Thanks for posting the video. I hadn't seen it before. My folks were friends with Billy at OU and my dad stayed in touch with him for a good many years until my father passed away.

Both my folks are gone now and I think I maybe I can spot a couple that looks a lot like them in one of the crowd shots. No big surprise as they never missed a game for more than 40 years.

My dad went to OU in the early 50's and got through 3 years then dropped out, never got an explination of why, but it was hinted around that he partied with the football team his way out of school. I wish he would have told us about it before he passed.

He and my brother-in-law came in as freshmen together. Both graduated in '52. My brother-in-law played behind Vessels his entire career. Bud called Vessels the only player he ever had who was not only the fastest player on the team but the toughest.

Remember, in those days, they played both ways.

One thing that sticks with me about Curly is that he died the night before the 2001 OU-osu game,I guesshe knew what was coming and didn"t want to see it. Great player and by all accounts a great man.Part of God's ALL-Heaven OU team.Lately it seems God has taken too many of OUr guys SOONERrather than later. Daryl,Hunt,Jack Mildren,Rick Bryan, Derrick Shephard among others.
