The Republicans do not have a good national candidate for the Presidential election. The candidates that appeal to the independents will not appeal to the base of the Republican party. I really fault the primaries for giving us such horrible candidates and we would be far better off with a national run off.

The Republicans do not have a good national candidate for the Presidential election. The candidates that appeal to the independents will not appeal to the base of the Republican party. I really fault the primaries for giving us such horrible candidates and we would be far better off with a national run off.Have the election, and the top 2 vote-getters qualify for the finals. (unless one of them gets over 50% in the first election) Whoever gets over 50% in the second election would win.

A great example is this budget deal. Why did people vote Republicans in last November? They voted them in for the budget NOT to go attacking social issues, like abortion, that in the big picture don't mean a damn.
