Hurt that the Stars couldn't take care of business when Detroit gave them the chance on Sunday.

But at least my Blackhawks have a chance to defend their Cup.

Not sure they will though. No Dustin Byfuglien and maybe no Dave Bolland means nobody to jump up and be a hero.

Vancouver in 6

Other picks:

Phoenix in 6 over Detroit
San Jose in 5 over Los Angeles
Anaheim in 6 over Nashville

And I don't care about the Leastern Conference first round matchups.

This is one of my favorite things to watch this time of year. I was going to start this thread tomorrow, if no one else did. I don't have to now. I think the Stanley Cup Playoffs are one of the very best postseasons in sports.

Here is the schedule for the first round of the playoffs.

Habs and Sabres score Game 1 wins on the road.

Thus far, they join the Preds as the only playoff teams to win Game 1 on the road. Kings trying to make it a 4-4 split tonight in San Jose.

Man, I have three teams I love to follow, the Stars (my favorite), the Flames and the Oilers and I went 0-3 in playoffs, so for me, I am pulling for my 4th favorite team, the Sabres! Let's go Sabs!

And can somebody put out an APB for Patrick Kane and the rest of the Blackhawks offense? Please? For my sake, anyway? :D

If Kane doesn't show up tonight, just stick a fork in the team that Stan Bowman screwed up because he has no clue how to manage the salary cap.

Well, Boston just blew a golden chance to go up 3-1 in the Eastern Conference Finals.

3-0 first period lead evaporates in the blink of an eye thanks to 2 goals from Teddy Purcell and Sean Bergenheim before Simon Gagne scores the game winner in the third.

And in the Western Conference Finals, some chick flashed Ben Eager of the Sharks.

Boston actually has more Canadians on their roster than Vancouver does....but having said that, as a Canadian, I just can't root for the 'Canadian Franchise'. Have to cheer for Boston, but if I was laying any money on the game, I'd have to go with Vancouver.

I dunno.

I thought Lu dodged a bullet against Chicago. As a Hawks fan, I'm haunted by the site of Patrick Sharp getting a point blank chance on that early OT PP in Game 7 way back in April (Sheesh, the season's too long) and not being able to elevate the puck over him.

And Chris Campoli's awful turnover right on the stick of Alex Burrows that led to the OT winner for Vancouver.

Seems to me Luongo and the rest of the Canucks are tempting fate a little too much. With that talent, they should have won this series in 5.

meh, they lucked out by playing San Jose in the conference finals. The Sharks are built to basically beat Detroit, that's why they struggled against both Vancouver and Los Angeles. I have no doubt that the Wings would have beaten Vancouver, possibly handily.
