Are going to have to wait in line according to this pole (http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/PPP_Release_MS_0407915.pdf).

Do you think interracial marriage should be legal or illegal?
Legal 40%
Illegal 46%
Not sure 14%

Lets also add a little fuel to the fire (http://abcnews.go.com/Health/mississippi-ranked-religious-state-us/story?id=9441536).

Mississippi was named the most religious state in the country, ranking first in four categories: importance of religion; frequency of prayer; the attendance at worship services and the certainty of a belief in God.

Some 82 percent of Mississippians say religion "is very important in their lives," according to a recently released list compiled by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life.

The lack of religious/racial/gay threads lately has worried me so I figured I'd fill that void.

In Oklahoma, we laugh at the backward hicks in Mississippi while the rest of the country laughs at us.

There's not too many people in Hawaii that aren't of mixed race.

It's why they're so good lookin'.

To be fair, "interracial" is a pretty big word for Mississippians to read and comprehend.

i guess MR2 shouldn't move to mississippi any time soon. it seems his dream of finally marring carlo, the mulatto cabana boy from last summers vacation will be frowned upon by the good people in that ever progressive part of the country.

And as far as gay and interracial marriage. Jumperstop and GKeeper can get married for all I care. What the govt says about marriage and morals means nothing to me.

I wonder how many advocates of gay marriage are in favor of Fundamentalist Mormon polygamy.

I think comparing a man married to 12 women included arranged marriages starting at like 10 years old is something that is very hard to compare to two adults of legal standing getting married.

Let's leave the state's Democrats, all 432 of 'em, out of this. It was a survey of Mississippi Republicans.

I have no problem believing the Democrats down there have the same line of thinking seeing as how they started the KKK.

I mean look at our country's view on accepting interracial couples and you'll see the majoirty didn't like it until the 90's.
