I was carving some old fashion green beans with this deeeelicious roast and red potatoes this evening.
Wiffie says, she won't do them unless she can cook them with a ham bone, the way her Momma did it!

Do the green Beans make the bacon less tough and do you throw them out and just eat the bacon?

We had these grilled marinaded chicken chunks doubled wrapped with bacon and a toothpick on the grill Saturday night with a little Sangria to clear our pallets for more ChickenChunksAnBacon....:D

Teh yum....

Winner.

I saw bacon flavored ice cream at Kroger last night. Didn't get it; I went for the strawberry peppercorn ice cream instead.
And I need to find my chocolate chip cookie recipe that calls for bacon fat and chipotle to post here. Mmmmmmm.

Yup, a good sharp cheddar helps as well. Either sugar in the mayo or use miracle whip. Isn't that stuff sweeter than normal mayo?

If you're in Tulsa, Lambruszco's has the best in town.

Green Beans and Sweet Potatoes with Spicy Apricot dipping sauce
---------------------
Peel sweep potatoes and cut into same size as Green Beans.

Toss with a little veg. oil, salt & pepper, then oven roast til they crisp up a bit.

OR you can also pan fry them and even do a simple panko crumb coating

Spicy apricot sauce: In sauce pan, combine about 1 cup apricot jam, about 1/4 cup Orange Juice, and a couple teaspoons Dijon or other prepared mustard. Finally add in about 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper. Mix and heat through until everything is incorporated and jam has melted down. Remove from heat and let cool a little bit.

Dip the greenbeans and sweet potatoes into the sauce and enjoy

Be advised on the amount of cayenne you put into the dipping sauce. when originally tasting, it might not seem all that spicy and you'll be tempted to add more. but the longer it sits, and as it cools the spicier it will get.

Bacon Martini

Lightly mist martini glass with vermouth, and rim the edge with bacon grease. In a cocktail shaker, mix 3oz vodka, one dash tobasco, and one dash olive juice. Shake well and strain into cocktail glass. Skim excess bacon grease from surface of cocktail. Garnish with one slice of bacon.
