when ebay started out....it was amazing the deals you could find..
it's still not a bad place to look for stuff...but it's now a seller's market. there just aren't that many good deals anymore on ebay.
craigslist otoh is the new king for good deals.
i love that site.
i've bought alot of stuff and i've sold alot of stuff there as well.
items i've found/bought on craigslist:
qx56 in hutchinson, ks
dodge diesel truck in texarkana, tx
yamaha pro saxophone in fargo, nd
my wife's horse in broken arrow
2 show steers to butcher
items i've sold:

ford truck
john deere planter
i'm working on another purchase currently that i'll post after the deal is closed...but it's my best deal yet.

A guy I work with claims to have found his hookers on craig's list.

what model grill did you get?
what did it cost?
I already had a Legacy, this one was a Portable and I paid $40. Had a little rust, but nothing a little sand paper and paint couldn't take care of.

when i sell something....i put in my ad that i won't respond to emails unless they also include their phone number...
it discourages email phishers....

I just sold a Coleman pop-up camper, easiest sell ever and got what I was asking... however, now I'm getting calls from 3-4 people a day asking if I still have the camper. i took the ad down the minute I sold it, but these people are telling me they found the listing on some RV site (I only posted it on CraigsList, no where else).
I dont know how the ad made it to other places but it pisses me off.. people calling at all hours and then theyre mad at me when i tell them its sold.

great for used tools, farm equipment and I guess.....vehicles.
The free stuff is good if you have the time to look through it all. Railroad ties, cinder blocks and stuff you can get free if you're willing to pick them up and usually only available in small quantities.

This is why I always meet someone, buying or selling, in a public place. Usually a grocery store or walmart parking lot so at least there will be witnesses when someone takes a bullet.
