D-Day in Saving Private Ryan. i was slinking in my seat as bullets whizzed by.

the scene where they rob the drug dealer in Boogie Nights. Night Ranger and and the Asian kid lighting fire crackers in the living room. you knew bad **** was about to happen, just not when it was going to start.

"Goodfellas" - The Club Scene

In one long shot, Scorsese tells the audience who Henry Hill is. He doesn't wait in line, he knows everybody at the hottest spots in town, and by the time the get their table front and center, he has Karen Hill in his pocket.

Well, virtually any scene with Clint ("...did he fire six shots, or only five....").

And a big shout out to Roller Girl. There was something delightfully amoral about the 1970's. I think cocaine had something to do with it.

The opening scene of The Big Chill, as well as all of the great music from the 60s on the soundtrack.

There are many memorable scenes in Nine 1/2 Weeks with Kim Basinger, especially the strip scene with soundtrack of Joe Cocker's "You can leave your hat on". I guess I was quite impressionable at that time.

This link is NOT SAFE FOR WORK.

The scene in Kiss of the Spider Woman and the two male characters are about to have sex in prison. Then the William Hurt character says: "Wait, I'm squeezed against the wall. That's better. No, wait, let me lift my legs."

This youtube clip is NSFW and definitely not safe for homophobes.

The scene in My Own Private Idaho when the River Phoenix character was getting a blowjob from his client and then climaxes with scenes of a barn falling to the ground and salmon swimming upstream.

Okay, I can't find it, except for this tribute video. This is NSFW and NSFH.

I mean hell ya have Stu punching out Wayne Newton/marrying a stripper..then pulling out his tooth/Alan getting a bj from an old lady in an elevator. Or maybe it was when they were checking out the video from Tysons house when Phil decides to get to know Iron Mike's tiger. :D

Speaking of Bill Paxton, I love that scene in Twister when they start singing Oklahoma.

Yeah, I already know what some of you weather freaks think about the egomaniac stormchasers. But, it is still a pretty cool scene for a displaced Okie.

A Few Good Men -- Tom Cruise breaks Jack on the stand. My favorite part is when Tommy boy asks about all the dress clothes in the closet -- Jack is stunned briefly, but quite obviously brings himself back to his own reality and gives a convincing answer.

And my absolute favorite--

Shawshank Redemption--too many fantastic scenes to narrow it down IMO. The most iconic is Andy standing in the rain after escaping. But the look on Tommy's face after Red says why Andy is in the clink is great. So is the scene when Warden Norton says "we'll have a book burnin'."

The opening sequence (up to and including the credits/title shot) of Dawn of the Dead (2004) was riveting.

Hmmm. Now that I think about it, the CDC spokesman sputtering before the media reminds me of a certain POTUS.

Modern = talkies.

Hitchcock had several. Of course the shower scene in psycho.

The school yard scene in The Birds is often mentioned, but I think the restaurant scene is also incredible - precomputer techology.

The rain dance in Singing in the Rain.

The scene where Maria meets Tony at the dance in the gym in West Side Story.

I agree with the Phoebe Cates classic scene all the way.

Also a powerful sexual scene is when william Hurt can't get the locked house and he sees Kathleen Turner in heat in the film Body Heat. A great flick.

As for special effects, the Titanic sinking in the recent version was damned incredible. I don't care how much you hated the film.

For emotionally gripping, I'd say the scene in Entre Nos where the mom and her kids are sitting together on a park bench at night after searching for recyclables all day.

The coffee shop scene in Heat. Man, Deniro and Pacino were both awesome!

Waingro: "Man, he was makin a move. I had to get it on!" I liked the previous scene where the Tom Sizemore character picks Waingro up in the truck on the way to the armored car job and Waingro wouldn't shut up, so Sizemore looks over at Waingro and puts out his hand and says "Hey, stop talking, OK Slick?" and Waingro gives him this really PO'ed look.

You're right. very interestin g !!

on poster says Doc said "i'm your huckle bearer". it does kinda sound like that, but i think that was just Val (he was great in this movie) Kilmer's
attempt @ a southern accent.

i liked the street scene, where he steps out & has one of his guns behind his back. Ringo would've been a dead duck.
