Pretty much the same grade every OL coach has recieved the last ten years. Not complaining, just saying.

Some years we've run better than others, but generally we haven't been that strong. In our three BCS Championship losses we haven't been able to run. Even AD had to be superhuman to make yards much of the time during his years.

Overall: C+
Pass: B+
Run: Z

Our run game has been horrific the couple seasons! I think I think a lot of that has to do with the youth and injuries...but still...Run block was the fun part for me!

oh come on our run game hasn't been that bad... 2009 i agree it was horrible, but i'm chocking that up to horses upfront. when you shuffle that many lineman around right before the season starts, there is a problem. last season our YPC wasn't great, but i thought we ran the ball pretty well. and 2008 we have 2 1000+ yard rushers so how can anybody criticize that?

Ask Sam Bradford's shoulder what he thinks the pass pro grade should be.

Grade schoolers learn to pick up the gut shot load blitz.

So Patton, their high school coach, their middle school coach, AND their grade school coach all get an F...

Or...maybe the player didn't execute and missed his assignment...

We hired a guy to take half of his responsibility from him. He is on thin ice.

Really? It hasnt been that bad?

Just in case you haven't heard there are 120 teams in D-1A football....

Rushing Offense:
2010: OU finished #83 out of 120. Averaged just 138.00 yards rushing a game.
2009: OU finished #77 out of 120. Averaged just 134.62 yards rushing a game.
2008: OU finished #20 out of 120. Averaged 198.50 yards rushing a game.

I'll take the '08 numbers (as long as I get the '08 passing numbers too)

The guy got off to a rough start here but has improved our numbers each year from what I can tell. He's still in the 13-15 sacks a year and those might not be a big deal until a tragedy like Sam's happened. Patton will carry that on his shoulders forever in my mind.

Fire him?

Find someone better first. I'd say we are stuck with him for now and heading into a such a promising season....no reason to start bitching now. If he gets Landry killed....then...he's gone. Post #8. This thread goes to the SFs history books as one of the stupidest threads of all time.

As much as I admire Sam, it was mostly his own actions that caused his injury. A blitzer came in unblocked, but that was bound to happen multiple times that year with an inexperienced line. Sam saw the guy, misjudged his speed and while trying to string the play out too long, let the guy get into his body and pin his arms. I saw him handle the same situation properly several times with the Rams last season.

From me, he gets a pass for 2009 (and partially for 2010) due to circumstances out of his control (starting players on the line who had never played that position). The entire line situation for 2009 was just incredible. I'll withhold judgment until after this season.
