I ended up getting my son a pretty nice cello.

Because I don't hate him.

I still buy my wife some cheap jewelry though, so go figure.

I hope he already plays the cello. I always hated it when I was a beginner playing trumpet, there would be kids with 1200 dollar Strats

It does separate those with longevity from those with only a few years experience around here though:D
