Lawrence Taylor, one of the best linebackers in history, is also one of the worst humans to ever come out of the NFL. Calling him disgusting, repulsive and despicable would be giving the guy a break.

He's been a crackhead, a coke freak, a tax evader, a wife-cheating 'ho-man who hangs with crack 'hos.

He's a bum who's twice been arrested for leaving the scene of an accident, and a deadbeat dad who says he can't afford the lousy $456 a month for his chronically ill daughter whom he's never even met.

Still, lowlife Larry has enough money to pay hookers.

see more videos Yes, this scum is guilty of too many crimes to count and probably should be in jail -- but not for knowingly committing statutory rape or endangering the welfare of a minor.

He was set up -- by the best in the business. And anyone who watched that repulsive post-hearing press conference knows what I'm talking about.

The one who seemingly endangered the welfare of a minor is the victim's new attorney, Gloria Allred (above, with her client). When that media hound in a Chanel suit brought the underage accuser/victim out for a press conference in front of the courthouse, the DA should have slapped the cuffs on her.

She was the one who damaged that girl by exposing her to the media, even though her identity had been scrupulously guarded by the courts and the media ever since the incident last May.

Here's what's even sadder. Allred, who can sniff out a camera like a truffle dog, showed up with the kid not to stand up for her in court -- but to walk her, like a paid escort, to the media circus she'd helped to create.

Allred, who tragically seems to have been born without the gene for shame, introduced the victim to the press by saying: "Our client, who we are not going to identify by name . . ."

What? You mean it's OK that we can all see her face now? That poor kid who's been through hell is now as recognizable as a contestant on "American Idol" -- but for all the very wrong reasons.

That press conference should get Allred arrested for trafficking in the misery of a minor.

This abused and neglected runaway needs love and protection -- not the revolting lust of a faded NFL has-been, nor the sudden fame and promised fortune of a big-name mouthpiece.

Allred is an extortionist and a discredit to her profession.

Lawrence Taylor reacts to sentence

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ESPNNewYork.com

During an interview Tuesday after he was sentenced to six years' probation, Lawrence Taylor made no apologies for visiting a prostitute, and said he did not know she was underage.

Taylor, 52, avoided jail time by pleading guilty in January to sexual misconduct and patronizing a 16-year-old prostitute stemming from an incident in May 2010. Both counts are misdemeanors.

Speaking on Fox News' "Studio B wth Shepard Smith," Taylor said he had asked the prostitute her age, and was told she was 19.

"That's not my M.O. I've been around kids and people all my life," said Taylor, a former New York Giants linebacker and a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. "I'm not the cause of prostitution. And sometimes I make mistakes and I may go out there. And I didn't go pick her up on no playground. She wasn't hiding behind the school bus or getting off a school bus. This is a working girl that came to my room."

Taylor blamed the institution of prostitution for the fact that he ended up with an underage girl.

"It's the world of prostitution," he said during the Fox News interview. "You never know what you're gonna get. Is it gonna be a pretty girl, an ugly girl or whatever it's gonna be."

Or a young girl? Smith asked.

"You can only ask," Taylor said. "I don't card them. I don't ask for a birth certificate."

Taylor said he had "no beef" with the girl.

"I'll take my punishment like I should, but my problem is at home with my wife, so that's really the only one I have to answer to," he said in the interview.

How did he get in the situation in the first place? Smith asked.

"It happens sometimes," Taylor said. "I'd been on the road 10 or 11 days and I came in to town. Actually, I made a phone call to a friend of mine, and he made a phone call."

Taylor said he has used the services of prostitutes in the past, especially between 1994 and 2001, when he was not married.

"I'm not looking for a relationship. Hey, sometimes I look for some company," Taylor said. "It's all clean. I don't have to worry about your feelings. It's all clean. I'm not saying it's right. It's the oldest profession in the world."

But right or wrong, Taylor appears to not consider prostitution a serious crime.

"I guess you call it a crime," he said during the interview. "It's one of those crimes you don't think about. You never think you're gonna get busted because everyone does it until you get busted, and then it's more embarrassing than anything else."

I'm tired of this "everyone does it" crap. Not everyone does it. And as long as there are those who can avoid breaking the law, those who break the law have no excuses.

I can honestly say I have never been with a prostitute. Have been asked on many "dates" but never said yes. You never know what could happen and when you're out of the country - too much risk. Besides, I love my wife too much.

I have met him on numerous occasions down here as his business partner in his energy drink is my poker buddy. He appeared to have really cleaned up his act and was very self consious of his image of late. This was a big surprise to many that he'd slipped up again.
