OKLAHOMA CITY -- Police say a man has accidentally shot himself in the hand and leg, taking off the end of his pinkie finger, at the Bass Pro Shop downtown.

Authorities say the man had just purchased several holsters and was testing them when the gun went off.

His injuries aren't life-threatening.

No other injuries have been reported.

I'm pretty sure that this is the type of moron that people who are opposed to the new open carry law are referring to.

What's the difference between open carry and concealed, as far as who has the gun? I'd rather know what I'm dealing with than be surprised that someone is packing heat. And for the police officers, I would much rather it be mandatory that people carry their sidearms where everyone can see them. No surprises for our boys in blue.
