Lotus's are great fun. I've got a buddy who has one and it's a fun car. One of the great automotive tragedies of the 21st century, however, is the death of the Pontiac Solstice. An honest classic that ran rings around lotus's at half the price.

There are only two vehicles I would buy from GM these days. One is a vette. They can do alot in the same tests the loti, or lotuses, how ever you pluralize it, without dropping that much bank.

Give me an STi with 5g's of upgrades and it will make the lotus look like a dumb purchase

For years I looked for either a nice 911 or an early Vette...I couldn't bring myself to spend the big bucks for the Vette so I settled on the 911 with 40k miles for 17k...

One thing you learn very quickly with the 911...if you are going too hot into a corner you DO NOT lift off he gas..you unload the back tires and the azz heavy back end will be leading the way...ask me how I know....:D

Mine doesn't have the whale tail...so it is even more touchy...had to get a Targa for the headroom...and I don't like the look of the wing on a Targa...at 6'4" the coupe was a little on the tight side...

One of the few American cars that not only runs 200 mph, but looks like it's doing it sitting still. Yeah, I know, it's a Dodge...and a vette is a Chevy. Nuttin' good about that.

Vipers are awesome. Great look, awesome power, but made by dodge and not a vette. Am I a gm fanboy, maybe, but alot less these days due to their crappy products and bailout taking asses.

Hell, ford is trying to use the stang as a rebuttle to the vette as seen with the super snake vs Z06. No chance. 70-80k for a bad *** coupe or a lower performance 5 seater? If you got the income, do what you want, but dont be claiming the stangs as top notch:D
