is performing at the civic center tomorrow. Now, I'm going to make wild assumption based on the last few years I've been around here and say most of you aren't fans of his. I would imagine OK is pretty low on him. So it seems interesting to me that he's coming here.

I'll withhold my opinion.

He's funny sometimes but the smugness and condescending egomania are a bit much.

I foresee lots of poking fun at Oklahomans. That's the part of it that pisses me off because the dillrods (who happen to be Oklahomans) that will be there will laugh like he's funny.

But those dillrods give us so much to laugh at.

Actually he was pretty complimentary to the people during his last visit in the article in this week's gazette.

However, its not like there aren't a few things take fun of in this state.

What gets me is geniuses like James Taylor, Bill Maher and Merle Haggard have to play the casinos and other small venues while talentless idiots like Kenny Chesney, Lady Gaga, and Dane Cook play the Ford Center or BOK.

I don't like him. Not because he's a liberal, but because he acts like a jerkoff if you don't think just like him. Pretty much like every other political babbler.

"Religulous" was pretty funny and to the point.

I don't like ranting-comedy. The kind where the comedian just gets up there and rants about everything he doesn't like.

His criticism of Christianity is basic, unoriginal, and an adult Christian would have no problem dismantling his attacks. He is unfair in his treatment of Christianity because he will have on a Dawkins to bash it, not not a Craig or a Plantinga to defend it.

Lady Gaga being talentless is not a widely shared criticism by those who know a lot about musical talent.

I watch him on HBO...he makes me laugh. Mostly, I laugh at him not with him.

It's not that we disagree that she wasn't born that way, it's just that we really don't know which way she was born and presently which way she is trying to be.

I've always thought she had a great voice, even though I don't like/buy Gaga's music.

Too bad they turned her into a walking freak show. But hey, thats what the teenyboppers like. Somebody their parents hate.

Well, I love his HBO show...but I really do not find him at all that funny. IMHO, he tries way to hard to be a liberal/libertarian version of Dennis Miller.

"they" didn't do a damn thing to lady gaga. her whole schtick was self-concocted as a way to market herself to those kids.

and she's about as talented as justin beiber... which is not very.

I saw Maher perform at the Brady Theater in Tulsa last December. He did not rag on Okies or Oklahoma, and even though he is obviously liberal on social issues, politically he pretty much slams both sides of the aisle.

My main complaint was that he didn't do much new material, and if you watch his TV show you had had heard a lot of it before.

Religulous was a great film. When he got that politician to say, "You don't need an IQ test to run for Congress" was awesome. He did spread it around but I wish he would've went after Muslims a bit more.

He's like most liberals, thinking he knows it all. However, I've seen when he has Ron Paul on his show and he tries to debate with him he quickly changes the subject before he can get destroyed.

He's called Obama a ***** on more than one occasion. Can't argue against that.

I consider myself just slightly left of center (which in Oklahoma seems to make me a flaming liberal). I like a lot of what Bill Maher says, but I can certainly understand where people wouldn't like him because of his smug attitude. I disagree completely with his attitude toward Christianisty but I totally agree with him when he takes politicians to task for being idiots. He seems to usually have balanced panels on his show, even though the show is admittedly left wing. I would be interested in hearing reports from the show itself. I wanted to go but was unable.
