http://espn.go.com/blog/big12/post/_/id/26728/big-12-fox-tv-deal-gets-even-sweeter

Earlier this week, the Sports Business Journal reported that the Big 12's television deal with Fox would go from $19.5 million annually to somewhere between $60-70 million annually.

Now, sources indicated to the publication that the deal could be worth $90 million annually, a 13-year deal worth $1.1 billion total. A reporter from Bloomberg television tweeted the same thing on Wednesday afternoon, citing a person familiar with the negotiations.

That's a 350 percent raise in television revenue, and that growth looks even better when you consider that the money would be divisible between 10 schools, rather than 12 after the exits of Nebraska and Colorado.

Third tier network consisting of the league's third tier schools to help monetize the league's third tier media rights. It just keeps getting better & better for OU & texass.

He'p me on the math, somebody. I thought OU made something like $15 mill this last year. 60-70 divided among 10 isn't close. 19 divided among 12 is worse yet. Were we:
1) getting money from other tv contracts as well?
2) getting THAT much more than other schools?

I'm sorry, but I have forgotten most of this crap since last summer's kerfuffel and am really too tired of it to spend a lot of time researching. If someone knows off the top of their head, great, otherwise I suppose I'll wait for the inevitable newspaper article.

I am pretty tired of hearing about tv contracts and pay outs. Hornfans is littered with "we just got our own tv deal with espn worth X amount of dollars" in rebuttle to OU only making chump change on the fiesta bowl. Yeah, they could give two ****s whether or not they blew penises last year and didnt even make it to a bowl, but hey, they are getting paid so others can see them get spanked at home. Their smack is sounding more like the dooshes from college station.

Who gives a **** how much OU is pulling in a year for TV or how sub standard the commentary is. Turn down the ****ing volume and just watch. Let the big 12-2 foot the bill for the fiesta bowl tickets. So what. At least OU is there, unlike the fags in Austin. I will take BCS games and conference championships over a bank roll. It is ****ing football. Scoreboard trumps earning potential in my book.

This is just the Fox contract. Big 12 was also shown on ABC and ESPN.

Cause that is just the tier 3 contract which I don't know if OU and UT are getting a split of due to their new networks. ESPN also has a contract and the networks owned by Texas and OU are also paying out. It's a sweet deal for us and many teams will be scraping to join the Big XII-II in 2014, I believe when ESPN renegotiates.

The fox contract will be for tier 2 rights.

The ABC/ESPN contract is the tier 1 contract and is for 60 million a year until 2015-2016 season.

The Fox contract for 90 million a year is for tier 2 rights. OU and Texas are included in the tier 2 rights.

Fox is also very interested in grabbing the Big 12's tier 3 rights for all schools except OU and Texas. This is currently being negotiated. But I expect that each of the 8 teams will make around 2 million for the Big 12-4 network.

It makes me wonder how much they're getting? :pop:

Its my understanding that on Nebs part they arent even getting a full share of the take for a few years up there.

Any status update on OU's network? Where do we stand as far as completion or announcement of the network?

I eagerly await the official announcement it won't be available on Dish Network. Because nothing is ever available on Dish Network. ESPNU-HD I'm looking in your direction.
