He said some stuff I didn't care for and I hit him with some neg spek. That's not breaking board rules BTW....it's a feature. Then I get PMs from him saying he doesn't care about SPEK. Then I get called a name. I let it roll off my windshield like a bug. Then I turned his *** red. Then he continued to chide and bait me with comments about my Wife.

For those that think the Posse takes the time to plan jihads and ruin peoples experience here....

I present Vet and StoopTroup as examples.

The two of us have nearly 100,000 posts on this board. A good number of them have been posted since the end of 2008 when Vet created the Hideout. We post a lot. There really isn't time to get a bunch of people together for secret meetings to plan the demise of SoonerFans. When Phil or Dean or any of the Mods speak...we usually listen. Occasionally some Posse Members do take things farther than Phil would like and he acts accordingly. In Vets case....he got banned and at first it was a perma ban. He's done his time in Phil's Dungeon and today he came back on to begin anew. To stay within the boundries of the rules and to be treated as fair as any other poster. Yet....in all these years...I've seen very few people who nearly or did get perma banned take it as he has. They usually act a lot like Stu. They usually have a chip on their shoulder and immediately begin to demand that the mob forgive them instead of apologize and let by gones be by gones.

Vet is the very first poster that I know of to be reinstated with his old SoonerFan Moniker and lose SPEK points. Maybe it's happened before....but I personally don't know about it. I'm not sure if Vet really even knows why he got banned and why he didn't get returned to his former status but I do know he's told me that he really doesn't care to discuss it....he's just putting it all behind him and moving on. I've got a lot of respect for him. He's seen a lot in his life. More than me. He's been good to my Family and others on this board when the chips in life were really down even when his own was getting hit.

There's a good bunch of people like Vet and a small bunch of folks who like to stir things up, create drama and create chaos. If it was me....I'd have em hitting the road faster than Lid steppin on some slick bevo poo on a tile floor.

Thankfully.....that's not my job. I like this place....to take things to your level Stu....Good luck with that.

You know your welcome to your opinion and the way you see it is fine...especially if you don't cry about it after expressing such view. Crux, Vet, me and others have all explained how we view it and it's really attitudes like yours that keeps SPEK rolling right along. Nobody but SicEm lives with his Mother and it's because he's loves her damn it.

That being said....ask yourself why Phil re-instated it because I know he asks himself that question too. LOL.

Bottomline.....it started out as a joke and later changes were made. It used to be that if you got Pos. or Neg. SPEK you couldn't see who was hitting you unless you subscribed. After the SPEK War Phil opened it up so everyone could see it. Some had opinions about that when he made the change but mostly....it stayed and we all just got used to it. Later people who were new would join who had been on other type board constructions that didn't use SPEK. Some found it an awesome feature others found it socially sick. Then when OUI came in after the James Hale Iron Fist of Doom hit....it happened again.

The dispute over it continues but IMO....it makes it a bit different than all of the others as you can send little love messages to single posters without using the PM feature. The PM box fills up and requires you to maintenance it. The SPEK feature only has recent message and once a SPEK ages...it falls off the page automatically and it only allows short messages. It can't handled it if someone pastes and clicks the Declaration of Independence.

I find it refreshing and I find it funny when some folks say they don't use it or care bout it and then start board wars about it and cover up their butt hurt feelings with testimonials like Stu's.

It's funny but it's also sad because some folks end up taking it personal. personal usually only happens when folks start jabbing other posters about their Wife and Kids or their fat *** Girl Friend....

Posters have a say around here until Phil decides they don't. Phil is EF Hutton. The HMHIC. That's where it began....and that's where it ends....
