You could hate Moore for his mannerisms, his condescension, his gotcha movie making style, his interesting editing out of anything that tends to nuance a position.
And you'd be absolutely right to do so.
But what really should be paid attention is that he is completely self-contradictory in virtually everything he does (the non-union staff, the extravagant personal lifestyle, the iffy realtionship with facts in his 'reporting'), and works tirelessly to undermine any sort of reasoned, middle ground discussion.
Like many of his ilk, it all has to be done his way; and that the world doesn't work that way is really the root of his anger. (gosh Michael, you couldn't be president of a car company....maybe because you spent more time downing beers at the local than boning up on engineering and finance. Yuh think?)
and, when you think about it, that's simply one more reason to dismiss a person who would have us think he is a populist.


On the other hand, hating him simply gives him the attention that he craves. Ignore him.

MM is a non-entity to me. I've never seen any of his movies, or even sat through an interview or anything with him speaking. Alls I know is what I've read about his - ahem - work? Based on that, I will never watch any of his **** or support any of his **** in any way.
