Who's got the stones?

I already tried it. I actually like it. The shrimp is...well...shrimp. Not weird "beef" like they use for other stuff. Has some sort of pico and slightly spicy sauce. I enjoyed it. And I ain't dead yet. So it must be ok.

Compare the smell to the seafood section of your local chain grocery store. TIA

The diarrhea won't even wait til you get to the house...

Didn't smell like anything but a shrimp taco. No diarrhea. I was actually the first person to order it at Penn Square Mall in OKC the day they began to order it. The manager gave it to me and asked me to come back and tell him how I liked it.

I throw up a little bit in my mouth every time I pass their store just looking at "Shrimp Taco" on the sign.

It's one of my new top 3 things on the menu.

I enjoy a TB run here and there, but I will never, ever try seafood from that place.

Hell its just a bag of frozen cooked shrimp that are probably just nuked in a microwave to warm them up. Shrimp cook really fast, especially if they are already cooked. I'm working with the Oklahoma City-County Health Department for my field work for my masters thesis. I'll have their *** shut down if they serve me bad shrimp.

Oh fer ****'s sake, it's pretty damn hard to **** up a shrimp taco. Even Taco Hell can probably get it straight. I ain't gonna eat one there cause I don't usually go there, but if I wanted one from there, I would.

There's still a lot of goobers out there who go "ooooh, gross" when you mention a fish or shrimp taco. Of course these are the goobers who wouldn't try one. Shrimp/fish tacos are = > beef/chicken tacos.

OKC and Tulsa are test markets for TB, hence why the menu here changes so often. It's a diverse enough demo in OKC and Tulsa that it fits their needs quite well. Also OK gets cheaper prices because of this. Well at least in the beginning.

This is actually the best item TB has ever had....these mothers rock. And that sauce is awesome good...

I think it's more a fear of what will happen when you eat fast food shrimp at a Mexican place, rather than that it will taste bad.

Heh. I told ya, I haven't ever had them out of an actual truck. The place is called Big Truck Tacos. Its a permanent building on a foundation on 23rd st. They have a truck, but I haven't eaten from that. On a side note, they won $10,000 and a chance to be on the Food Network last year for being badazz.

Dude, eating that near-beef **** taco hell serves will blow a hole clean through your colon way worse than any shrimp will.

That's how they get you, though. Hey, remember that taco you ate last Tuesday that ruined your GI tract like a bull in a china closet? Well, now we've got this nice, wholesome shrimp taco. Nothing strange, we promise!

Then BAM, you're back where you were.

Not sure if a running joke....

But my .02

Tacos San Pedro

Los Tacos

I have heard good things about Big Truck, but I've lived in Houston for 5 years now, and was not on my radar while there (if it existed).

"Big Truck Tacos", on NW 23rd St., west of Broadway.

Had the shrimp tacos this evening (As* Wednesday).
Have enough shrimp & were quite good for a quick meal.

I'll have to try Tacos San Pedro and Los Tacos. I also like Big Truck Tacos for their daily lunch and dinner specials that change daily. There are some very unique eats there sometimes.

Fish, shrimp....it's still seafood.

Tacos from a truck usually are pretty awesome. And if you can handle going deep into the barrio to find where the neighbors eat, you'll probably find taco nirvana. There's a place in our little barrio here where I would never go by myself, but my son (who's fluent in Spanish from working at taco hell for several years - learned more there than in school) will go pick them up and they are incredible.

So what is the over/under (in years) that Taco Bell starts serving Spaghetti Tacos?

My wife instructed me to give up something for lent, so I decided no Taco Bell. Instead, I went to Maria's Taqueria and had some carnitas tacos.

Eating one of the shrimp tacos as we speak. Not bad, but that's not saying much for Taco Bell. The sauce is the best part about it.
