Friend of ours shot this video and asked my Wife to do the voice over. It's going to be featured on the Oklahoma Dept Of Tourism and Recreation's website. Proud of Steve and his wise choice in asking teh Wife to do the VoiceOver. It's cool when things like this get noticed. Hope y'all like it.

Didn't watch the video, but I will say I have been to the Gloss Mountains, and they are very interesting. I especially enjoyed going to the top of one of them for some really nice views.

Yeah the video covers a bit of history, geology, how to get there and the features of the park and discusses like you said...the 360 degree view from the top.

The video shows a map and gives some directions. Basically it's west of Enid.

It is the highest point, but that fact is a bit misleading. It is the highest in elevation, but it is not as pronounced as some of the mountains down in SE OK.

I always find flying over the OK panhandle to be very interesting.

EDIT: fixed it. sorry.

There is only one place I want to visit in Oklahoma. I've been everywhere else but Little Sahara or Mini Sahara or whatever it is?

That place looks sweet

The Little Sahara is very cool as long as you have a dune buggy to enjoy it with. Haven't been there in years but if you're going that far you may as well see the Glass Mountians and Alabaster Caverns while you're there.

I plan riding ATV's and drinking Pabst. Doesn't that just scream AMERICA!

I grew up just west of the Glass Mtns in Woodward Co. and have many childhood memories there. Camping trips with my scout troop were always fun and there are some pretty good fishing holes hidden amongst the valleys and draws. Beautiful country and unique terrain. And when you climb to the top of some of those bluffs, it feels like you can see forever. I'd never heard them called the Gloss Mtns before, but here's a link that tells the story of how they got their name.... Link (http://www.okmajordev.org/gloss%20mountain%20state%20park.htm)

No brainwashing was necessary. My great grandparents on both sides participated in the Cherokee Strip land run. If that's not part of Oklahoma, then neither is the land in Norman. I chose to leave that part of the country once I was grown, as I had an adventurous spirit that needed to see more of the world. But NW Ok has, and always will be "home" to me.

I used to know a few Waynoka girls that would have been happy to oblige.

I'm not the least bit grouchy. But even with the application of the big smiley emoticon, your post did disrespect my home when you implied that it was not part of Oklahoma, so you shouldn't be surprised if I appear a little defensive.

I know that to an outsider, NW Oklahoma may seem like hicksville, but I've literally traveled around the world and, have lived in seven different states, and the land and people in NW OK are some of the best I've experienced. I'd think you may feel the same way about whatever place you call home.

Actually, I really like that part of the state. I hunted on a deer lease just east of Waynoka and visited the Glass Mountains and Little Sahara. There were alot of deer and turkey in that area. Great part of the state for an outdoorsman.
