50 yrs ago... 3/1/61

My parents were married. :) They're both still alive, and we'll be celebrating their Golden Anniversary at a nearby restaurant.

I've been blessed in so many ways, some of which I imagine I'm still not aware of. I can only hope and work to make sure my wife and I can pass along a good model of married life to our own two teenagers...

March 1, 1961 was also my mother's 18th birthday. She left a hellish "home" to marry my dad as soon as she legally could... yeah, the phrase "happily ever after" probably applies to them as much as it has to anybody. :)

The Tulsa World had this column on Monday. Pretty cool timing; not my parents of course, but it's kinda similar...

That's cool. My grandparents had their 50th a few years ago. It makes you think. That is how its done.

Congrats to you and your parents

My parents celebrated their 60th this past Sunday. 5 of the 6 groomsmen were there at the church where they were married 60 years ago. The church made their anniversary a part of their Sunday service.

Our family greatly enjoyed the event.
