My kids want to make up a box full of stuff, take it to the post office and mail it to a soldier in Iraq or Afghanistan. They don't want to just go drop it off somewhere.......they want to mail it themselves. They are 5 and 10. I've heard that you just can't mail a package randomly, you have to have a person's name and address. Do any of you know anything about this? Do any of you have a friend or loved one who would like a care package from 2 cute little girls. Let me know. They are already working on their "soldier boxes".

Take it to the american legion and if you want to make it personal, put some cards in it. Theres alot of rules on what can be put in there. Certain types of food and magazines. They'll help you. Nice kids.

Or did you mean personal as in sending it to someone in part? Sorry reading comprehension is hard. Don't quite know the policy.

They appreciate it. My youngest brothers best friend is in Afghanistan and he loves those disposable hand warmers right now and gum....

Yeah, if we had a name we'd send it to that person. The kids just want to do their part. Never too early to teach them.

Our family is currently doing every-other-month mailings to soldiers in afghanistan and iraq...if you would like, I could provide a name and address for a soldier in afghanistan who could use it...

I like my socialism to support men with guns who kill bad people...

Heartfelt charity isn't anything remotely close to government-forced socialism.

Sometimes you really should think before you post.

I gave Vet a 24 pack of natty, does that count?

It counts, but a 30-pack + a pack of smokes would be much more benevolent of you.

Chris* Dean, that's terrible advice!

Do not start doing this Ald! Think of all the time you'd waste hitting the backspace key.
