I am a HUGE Caniac...moreso than I am a Sooner fan. Yes, bane me. Teh hawt wife is a Stars fan.

They retired Rod Brind'Amour's number last Friday night (he was their captain when they won the Cup). And since I am a big fan of his, the wife and I went out to Raleigh to catch the ceremony. And as a tribute to him and his career, the NHL saw it fit to send down the Cup for the evening.

And Dean, that Carolina hat has survived 26 combat sorties over Asscrackistan.

Me either.:O

I thought it was a joke.

Steve, God bless you for your service. However, loving a ****ing ice soccer team more than the Sooners is grounds for treason charges.

I was a hockey fan long before I was an OU fan. Dad's from Boston...so I grew up watching the sport.

Then you should be sporting Bruins gear.

My pop was from Kenosha. Huge Packer fan. I've never set foot in Green Bay, but I've loved them since before Super Bowl I.

Carolina Hurricanes? Never even heard of them. Seriously.

Nah...that's my father's team...I followed Brind'Amour from Philly to the Canes...then really started following Carolina after the move from Hartford.

They used to be the Hartford Whalers until 1997.

Complete topic change, but as an Eagle I couldn't help but notice what looks like the Eagle knot above your left pocket.

Am I right?

I have kissed it twice, once in OKC and two years ago in Toronto at the Hockey Hall of Fame. I can't think of any other trophy that is so accessable to its fans and they let you touch it and kiss it. They are very cool with it! I love Lord Stanley's Cup!

By the way, awesome for your wife being a huge Stars fan! I am too a huge Stars fan with my other favorite teams being the Flames and Oilers.

Carolina won the cup when no one pretty much cared about the NHL due to the shut down just prior. They beat Edmonton in what had to be the lowest rated SC Finals. ever. And that's saying a lot.

Blackhawks have the best uniforms, perhaps, but the Whalers' logo is still king.
