Da mayor's choice.

I lived in 3 different places in Chicago before I move to the burbs. There is no doubt I voted 3 times for Rahm, even though I have not been back to any of those places in years.

Somebody's gotta take over the corruption and profit off the taxpayers. May as well be an Obamatron.

Oklahoma calling any other jurisdiction's politics monolithic is hilarious.

"You get the govment you deserve"!
:P

(The price of animal heads at the slaughter houses in Chicago just went up!)

What does it say about Obama that this nutjob spent the last two years trying to convince the Pres to be less of an idealog?

Whether you like him or not, Rahm Emanuel's balls are bigger than your heads.

No doubt bigger than his brain too. What a POS, just what the most corrupt city in America deserves.

Chicago is what it is and always has been. And they don't give a f*ck what anyone else thinks about it.

That is why the tax rate is so high! The sales tax is 11%, not including the extra tax on sodas.

Sh!t, seriously? Do they have like border town stores that advertise the fact that they are not subjected to Chicago taxes, or are you talking statewide? Sorry man :(

As for Rahm, congrats on the victory. I know it's no well-kept secret, but I am a girl.

Wait a sec, wrong secret -- I know it's no well-kept secret, but I am a Republican. I can respect someone (barring some selfish reasons I am unaware of) stepping down from a cushy federal job with tons of power and perks to try to steer their beloved hometown back on track.

Yes, even if they're an evil spend-happy Democrat :P

Champ...good to see you. You should like Rahm. Like you, he is digitally challenged.

Step down? As Democratic mayor of Chicago he's probably now one of the 10 most powerful politicians in the country.

Most people probably couldn't name the Chicago governor or pick him out of a police lineup. The president's chief of staff, however, I think would have a better chance of both. Thus, I consider this move a giant step down, yes.

Yes really. As the man who is now in charge of the what is likely the most powerful regional political machine in the nation, he has more clout than almost any other elected official in the U.S..

Good to see that you are still fighting the fight. If not admired for your political positions, I still admire you for your convictions and unyielding devotion, nevermind how wrong, twisted, non-sensical and damaging to this country they may be.

I was hesitant to get on here, there is no telling how much the time spent on O'Connell's has cost me. When you are in sales, time is money you know.

damn....that is good prose. I like talking WWII with you. You are a good person, and a good American. We just see things from two different angles, that's all.

Rahm is rearranging deck chairs in the Titanic. Chicago and Illinois are failed socialist experiments. The rest of us will not bail the states and their unions out of their mess.

Those photos are absolutely amazing. I have seen only a few of them before. Most of them are brand new to me. I have bookmarked the page so that I can read all of the commentary...Thanks

Yes, but you need to be out of Cook County. Also, they have a scam where anyone with a Cook County address must pay the Cook County taxes when they buy a car, regardless where in the state you make your purchase.

And, with all the political connections, being da mayor of Chicago begets you more power and $$ than being chief of staff for Barry. You got all the union connections, payola from companies wanting to do business with the city, everything costs. Imagine what Walmart had to pay to open up NON-UNION stores in the Chicago city limits!!!
