as long as marijuana is being used as medicine today, I don't think McGee should be punished by any means.

Yup.
That and no matter what you think about the majestic weed, there is no one who can claim it makes you a better driver.

is he a Norman citizen or a Norman resident?

do you have to apply for Norman citizenship?

Maybe he was leaving his dealer's house.

KantoSooner

Let me review a basic rule: dealers houses might very well be under surveillance. While being seen entering and leaving might not be enough to cause the police to grab you then and there, it very likely will lead them to watch you a bit more closely at least until you leave the area. Blazing up in the car immediately after scoring is bad form if nothing else.

Not that I'd know or anything; but that's what all the cool guys in movies say.

What's a "marijuana grinder"?

KantoSooner
2/22/2011, 05:21 PM
It's a sandwich served in New England that includes Italian meatballs, marinara sauce, melted cheese, bell pepper strips and about 4 grams of purple sins.
Kind of a perpetual motion machine if you think about it.

It's exactly what it says it is.

SoonerMom2

So it was an automatic dismeanor and he was released as he was a Norman resident by signing his name for having an illegal drug in the car BUT Kenny Stiles was cited for being underage drinking alcohol and was under the legal limit which was finally downgraded to a misdemeanor.

Let me get this straight -- cops arrest you and you have to get bailed out if you are underage drinking one beer but if they find illegal pot in your car, you can sign yourself out.

What am I missing here?

That goes without saying, of course, but assuming he is going to do it, it just drives me nuts that he is smoking weed while driving in a car. He should keep that crap in his apartment, and if he was picking it up, then he should find someone who delivers.

i pray things have changed since the 1970's, but knowing players then and them telling me that they were offered the things you say...i can understand where their mindset is...ten feet high & bullet proof.

a lot of them were, some not so...

if you've never been in their shoes...how easy is it to judge?

true...i wish that no OU player has done ANY DRUGS...but when they reach college level they gotta know it WILL be their downfall!

playing for OU is the best thing that they could achieve to date...to do drugs while there is insanity!

There would be less road rage & fewer crashes if everyone smoked a little kind bud before driving. I guess it won't be acceptable by all until it's legal in 20 yrs.

If and when it's legalized, which I'm on neither side personally, it will be treated just like alcohol when it comes to operating automobiles. This would have probably been treated just like an Open Container if marijuana was legal. But, the point remains, it is illegal and athletes, pro and amateur, need to realize there are consequences.

Well the fact is...

13 states have decriminalized marijuana for under an ounce.

Oklahoma will eventually join suit ALTHOUGH it will be the last state to eventually go along that route- but nevertheless I expect Oklahoma to decriminalize pot in the year 2475 AD.

Book It.

Oklahoma was one of the last to legalize alcohol, and even then they didn't allow liquor by the drink. They should quit wasting taxpayer money charging people for possession of weed. Medical marijuana is like Oklahoma's old class B clubs.

On Judge Napolitanos Fox network show, he said that a woman in Kingfisher named Spottedcrow just got 10 years for selling 31 bucks worth of pot to a snitch. She sold it in front of her little boy though, but still...10 years? Thats pretty stiff, even if she had priors.

Of course she will be out in a few months like most Oklahoma nonviolent offenders. The big sentences are for the most part for our benefit to make it look like they are doing their job.

To do 10 years she would have to receive about 600 years.
