How good was Overton today? Was it him or was it W&M? It was hard to tell on the video how much he was actually moving the ball around. If we could have a couple of legitimate LH's on the hill that would be huge.

I thought he looked good. Best thing he did, I thought, was consistently keep the ball low - he never gave them a chance to really smack him hard. Also, he fielded his position as well as I've seen in a long time. And, that W&M team can hit a bit, as Bobby Shore and Burch Smith found out saturday.

He's not overpowering - only 2 Ks and never touched 90 on the gun that I saw. Also, didn't consistently get ahead of hitters. Plus, it seemed W&M was just mentally absent today, probably ready to get home.

I think he's gotta be the favorite still to be the main mid-week starter, although Jordan John will continue to have a say in that. I also think he's got an outside shot at a weekend rotation spot if, for example, Shore doesn't get straightened out or Burch continues to get hit hard.
