I've talked to Mark personally about his degree. Mark was the first person in his family to get a degree. He never finished it while at OU and came back to get his degree. In fact, he rented a small modest apartment next to campus last summer. He told me the old cliche NFL = Not for long and he was going to need a career after football.

Mark is a really smart guy. I'm glad he's giving Broyles advice and I think it played a big part in him coming back. Very few guys make the kind of money Bradford is making. Most players will be out of the league in 3 years and the majority blow through their money. Fast money spends fast, even when you make a lot of it. I wish Broyles nothing but the best and I think he made the right decision in coming back.

He has come so far since he got on campus. He was a cocky little sh1t when he got here, and the gas incident came as no surprise to many.

He has done a complete 180 though, and is a really impressive dude now. He's gonna be in the NFL a long time, and he's not going to be the type to blow through all his money.

Sometimes it really is pretty simple and you get it at an early stage in life. I hope Broyles just hangs with it and doesn't get caught up in hype. His turnaround story is great, but you only get so many chances in life.

Good read and always nice to hear someone has the common sense to think ahead. Out of those 56 underclassmen that declared for this year's draft, it would be interesting to track how many of them don't ever play in the NFL.

Great article! It is super nice that Mark Clayton has been mentoring him too! Mark sounds like a super nice guy, and speaking of Mark, he has a tshirt company that sells christian themed tshirts. If interested, the company is called mychristiant.com, and he has a website and the company is on Facebook.
