Kiel, out of Columbus (Ind.) East High School, is on the Rivals250 and ESPNU 150 watch lists, and is a 4-star prospect according to Scout.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Kiel, who already holds offers from OU, Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame and Wisconsin, threw for 2,645 yards and 36 touchdowns last season. So far, Kiel is believed to be the only quarterback OU has offered a scholarship to.

SOONERS OFFER UTAH DEFENSIVE END

The No. 1 prospect in Utah now has an offer from the Sooners. On Friday, Kaysville defensive end Troy Hinds was added to OU's offer list, his father told the Salt Lake Tribune.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Hinds also has offers from BYU, Utah, Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, Stanford, UCLA and Washington State.

Hinds is a 4-star recruit, according to Scout.

PHIL STEELE PROJECTS OU WILL BE NO. 1

The college football Web site PhilSteele.com is projecting that OU will open the AP Top 25 ranked No. 1.

After OU, Steele predicts the poll will have Alabama at No. 2, followed by Oregon, LSU, Stanford, Texas A&M, Boise State, Florida State, Oklahoma State and South Carolina.

If that holds true, three top 10 teams (A&M, Florida State and OSU) would be on OU's 2011 schedule.
