I'm not sure that any of these "reality" shows are real. It's pretty obvious that all of the Bachelor and such shows have someone behind the scenes moving things in a certain direction for ratings.

Once I saw the "re-enactments" thing at the beginning of Repo, I never watched again.

I had a good friend die doing a repo in the 80's. He was a man-mountain of a dude - probably 6'8" and about 300 or so. He drove a contract truck for the USPS, and was just trying to make some extra $$ on the side doing repos. Anyhow, he pulls up behind a pickup at 3 am, starts hooking up the chains, and dude comes out of the apartment and goes "WTF are you doing?" Foncho says "I'm repossessing this vehicle" dude goes "like hell you are" and shoots him in the chest with a .357 from about 2 feet away. Foncho said "oh my God" and died. He was 27 years old.

Dude was arrested, went to court, and got off on a self-defense deal - primarily due to Foncho's size, and his background of getting into bar fights, etc. Dude rode with the Bandido's MC gang.

Oh, and I don't watch any of this **** TV y'all always talk about on here.

I have managed to push out three papers for publication in the last six months. But I could do zero work this year and still get paid. I wouldn't get any more sabbaticals, however.

I watched this show for the first time a couple weeks back in an all day marathon type thing and watched like 5 or 6 shows in a row. I thought it was hillarious, so I decided to start watching the new season or whatever episode was on and I began to question the validity of the show. Seemed like the senarios kept becoming more and more unlikely. At that point I realized it was fake and googled to verify, sure enough it was. Aparently a repo person isn't allowed to even touch the person at all even if confronted, so yeah that Matt guy would be in jail 10 times over. Also if a repo person is caught in the act of towing and on the person's property they are required to leave if asked. I guess I thought that it was so extreme because that's how repo's are, but it's only like that cause it's fake. Probably will never watch this show again knowing how fake it is.

Is hardcore pawn any better? A man walks in with a Civil War item, and the pawn shop calls some dude to drive down and appraise it. The expert (who does it for free from what I can tell) appraises the item in front of the customer (yeah, right!) for say $2,000, and they offer $1,000 for it? In reality you wouldn't get more than $200 for it.
