I can honestly state that I've not eaten more than maybe 20 bowls of cereal in my entire lifetime, and none within the past 35-40 years or so. Whenever I did eat it I guess my favorite was the big hunks of Shredded Wheat.

Cereal is nothing but a giant bowl of crappy carbs and there ain't a damn thing in it that's good for you. Yeah, whole grain something or other with a brazillion grams of fiber and vitamins? Horse****. It's a cup of sugar in every bite. Whatever good it does for you is negated by the HFCS, sugar, bad carbs.

Animal by-products are what's for breakfast.

Grits ain't cereal. I've eaten hundreds of pounds of them things in my life. Which reminds me of a story:

My mom used to cook eggs/bacon/grits all the time for our breakfast. Sometimes we'd have sausage or ham (if she baked a ham and there were leftovers), but 90% of the time, bacon. Anyhow, her breakfasts were to die for. The grits were the best ever.

So, I join the Army 5 days after I turn 17. I get to Ft. Polk, and I see they have grits so I ask for a big ol mess of them. I took one bite and almost had to spit them out. They tasted like grainy wallpaper paste or something. NASTY. No flavor whatsoever and weird texture.

I go home on leave several months later, and mom cooks up breakfast. This time I payed attention, and learned about why her grits were so good. As she's stirring them (real grits gotta be stired non-stop until they're cooked) she chunks in a whole stick of butter, a ****pot of salt/pepper, a little sugar, and then pours most of the bacon grease in there too with all the little cracklin's and stuff. Sometimes she'd put a little milk in there too. No wonder they were so damn good.

To this day, when I visit mom's she'll make those grits for me. I know they ain't good for you, but I figure I don't eat them every day and they damn sure taste good.
