I remember that game. IIRC, that was the last Halloween show that Coach let us do. I was nice & warm in that wool uni until halftime. Then we went and changed into our costumes and froze our arses off.

Funny thing about that one is that it wasn't even supposed to be a home game. KSU agreed to play it in Norman (this happened in '89 as well) because they got more money for a road game than they could make by playing at home.

It wasn't really snow though. It was sleet/ice crap and it was DAMN cold. Me and the kids moved to the 50 at halftime cause everybody was gone.

I went to an aTm game in the second half of the 90's. Don't remember exactly when but it was snowing then. I stayed the entire game in the snow and cold, but what was more amazing was that I stayed the entire time in spite of the score. I think we probably lost by 30 or 40 that game. Couldn't have been 1500 people in the stadium by the time the game was over.

You can't have "freezing rain" if the temperature was 36 degrees.

I was at all three of those games, and they were all cold sumbitches. The a&m game was probably the worst, just because we sucked so bad.

For cold I would nominate the Big 12 Championship Game at Arrowhead in 2006. I froze my a** off but it was worth it.

Being 7-3, there wasn't much to cheer for that day. When I got up to leave, I remember my jeans basically were frozen in place and I had knock the layer of sleet/ice off to stand.

My Dad tells of going to an OU game when he was in Med School, so 37-40 season. He was sitting in the North endzone. Wore a coat and tie as was the custom then. It was mid to high 60's at kickoff. By the middle of the 4th quarter the temp was high 20's and it was snowing so hard you could not see the yard lines beyond the 50 from his seats.

So, in answer to the OP's question. Yes.

It was in Stillwater, but ice reigned in a late '70's game with the pokes. I'm guessing 1978.

Well, some of my dorm mates played in the snow outside Wilkinson Hall back in 1983 until Buster Rhymes got hit in the face with a snow ball and opened fire into the air with his .357. It's all fun and game until someone gets capped with .357!

Was at that game after the night before sitting through a playoff game at Norman High in the snow. It was really cold that night but the kids and I stayed for the whole game as I said if the team can play, we are going to stay to support them.

Made beating A&M in Norman so much sweeter after that. The Aggies ran up the score in the frozen tundra and I said then I couldn't wait for payback. Same thing with NE -- loved the payback.

Not involving OU but TOSU. Blizzard in Columbus in 1950. Michigan 9, Ohio State 3. Check out the video.

I have played a football game in the snow at Owen Field.
I did as well, we seemed to have a bunch of snow during the fall '82/spring '83 school year.

Barry's last home game.
That one sucked, the Charles Thompson broken leg game as well. I had to change a flat tire in the freezing rain after the game. We went back to my friends apartment (Hampton Woods) and watched some other games and drank Rumple Minze and tried to warm up. When we headed out for dinner at Interurban it had been snowing....so the snow just came later.

My dad and I were at a Missouri game in the 70's where it was about 60 or so at kickoff and a storm moved in during the game and the temps dropped a bunch and it got cold in the north end zone.

I think the 74 OSU game was played in a snowstorm.
It had snowed the day before. They plowed the field prior to the game. The high was something like 28 with strong north winds. The game was close in the 4th when Little Joe returned a punt for a TD.

there is a clip of that runback out on the net, somewhere and you can see the snow piled up against the walls around the field. I remeber is it was the only game I ever saw at Owen with snow like that still around the field. And it was stinkin cold, too....

The following year OU played KSU on Halloween. I was only 3, but my mom said we went to that game and it was snowing. We had to leave early to get me and my baby brother dressed up for trick-or-treating. She may have mixed up '91's weather with '92's date though...
