Snyder likes his recruits like he likes his non-conference opponents - JUCO.

Snyder likes his recruits like he likes his non-conference opponents - JUCO.If snyder would have been a coach at a better place than (ugh)Manhattan KS, he prolly would already have more than one NC.

FWIW, none other than Junior Seau's nephew is a part of that class. Hope he's not quite a chip off the old block.

agreed...just think IF he is gone in a yr or 2 (thought his time-frame was 2-3 yrs then name a replacement) he'll leave the cupboard bare...which is fine with me...

I noticed this while reading our local news site and wondered why he would select KSU?

Daniel Sams | ATH, 6-2, 210, Slidell, La. (Salmen)
Picked K-State over Miami, Oklahoma and Oregon.

OU considered him but I'm not sure how serious they were. With so few schols available, hard to know who they would have offered otherwise.

Snyder knows what he's doing. I don't look forward to us playing them in the future. They used to bring serious pain to our QB's.

that's the way he did it the 1st time.
He also did it at a time when OU, OSU and UT were down, he got recruits that more than likely would have gone to one of those schools if not for the poor coaching staffs.

You are wrong my friend. According to Snyder's bio, he was never a college head coach until he went to K-State. He never won a national title at K-State nor at any of the college's where he worked before that. K-State was ranked as #1 but lost the game in the bowl that would have given him a national title. I lived in KS when that game was placed and I remember them coming so close but still so far from being #1.

I think what texaspokieokie is saying that Snyder was a good enough coach that would have won his first MNC at whatever school he coached if he hadn't of had to build a program from the shell of what the K-State program was when he took it over. Not that he won any prior to or while at KSU.

What he built at KSU was legendary considering how bad they were for a very, very long time. Not many schools gave up playing a home (conference) game against OU to play in Norman because they could make more money for the program, from 1988 to 1992 every game was played in Norman. They played two years in Manhattan (1995-96) due to the change from Big 8 to Big 12 scheduling.

helps build a strong relationship with those JUCO schools. especially when you schedule them for your out-of-conference games.
