Call a Dealership that sells 4x4 Trucks or SUVs. Tell them you'll pay sticker if they'll bring it to your house full of gas.

Momma cleared almost 1/2 a mile of driveway yesterday/today with the front-end loader on the little tractor. Then, she got to the OU BB game and sold cokes/hot dogs/etc. all game. Then, she made it to the neighbors to clear part of their drive where the snow had piled so high they could get their 4x4 truck through.

Y'all need to learn something from this.

Way to leave your mom hanging like that............

What did you get your mom for Mothers Day? A basket of your dirty laundry?

oh, and i'd clear the path from my driveway to the main street, too. I don't think my car will even make it out of the neighborhood. I asked a coworker last night to please pick me up on her way to work, she lives nearby...but she couldn't get into the neighborhood

StoopTroup

I made it to the Grocery Store but it's freaking dangerous and the folks out there driving over 25 MPH need to be pulled over and have their vehicle impounded IMO. I had to go around the block on the way Home as two cars had driven into the deep snow at the top of the street and they are stuck until they get someone to pull them out. Since one of them tried to pull by the other one....they are both stuck and have blocked off the top of the hill. Idiots....especially the 2nd one.

i treat him fine for a coworker. I think his wife might kick my *** if I was nice in any other way.

my cousin brought me a shovel, but it's not a snow shovel and it doesn't work that well on the 3 foot snowdrift...i worked on the driveway for about an hour, but it's still a mess.

I guess I'll stay home tomorrow too, which sucks, because I don't want to use my vacation for this.

My office in Mustang is open. They claim the roads are just fine--"just fine" my ***. We drove to campus corner for dinner tonight to see how the roads were. No way I'm driving 30 miles in this crap tomorrow.

yermom
2/4/2011, 02:07 AM
The main roads aren't that bad. I haven't been on I-35 but I'd imagine it's pretty clear by now.

But still, there aren't many places in Norman I've been today that my car wouldn't go a little sideways with a blip on the gas.

It's those idiots who play sheep and all stay in one lane and then decide to move over when I'm driving by that irritate me. Let me get by and then move over and slow everybody down. :)

The majority of the snow routes should be clear enough for just about anyone to use them . . . folks are having problems getting through the piles of snow at the entrances to their neighborhoods though.

I saw several stuck in those piles on my way in this morning.

Does your office have a telecommuting plan?

Whet

She already telled them she can't commute into work!!

But, that would be a good idea for a lot of companies!!

soonerbrat
2/4/2011, 07:15 PM
Does your office have a telecommuting plan?

not really. when I had surgery a few years ago they hooked me up with a laptop so I could do some work at home but I don't have the program I need on my personal computer to do my work. I can at least check my email and get on the intranet. I didn't get much email today, only about 5, and I usually get over 100/day, so I think the office was still pretty empty

i have plenty of vacation left
had lots left over from last year. i was only out 2 days this week since the office was closed 2 days. I think my boss will let me work 2 of my fridays off so I won't have to take vacay hours. i'm trying to save some for next year though because they aren't going to front load it anymore starting 2012....

We decided to go on a trip after her graduation instead of spring break, it'll cost about half as much.

Skysooner
2/5/2011, 02:03 AM
They aren't going to give you the total vacation up front anymore? Wow that is a change. I still get that where I'm at. 6 weeks a year though. Hope all is working out for you. Great company.
