I'm so scared why didn't Channels 4,5,9,25,34,43 not prepare me for this with wall to wall coverage? Maybe they will make up for it by pre-empting network programming to give us continuos dire warnings of impending doom.

The national weather service in norman has issued a blizzard
warning...which is in effect from 10 pm this evening to 6 pm cst
tuesday. The winter storm warning has been cancelled.

* timing: Light wintry mix by midnight...quickly turning to heavy
snow and blowing snow by sunrise...persisting through tuesday.

* main impact: Moderate to heavy snowfall from around 3 am to 3
pm. Winds gusting over 45 mph on tuesday...creating blowing
snow...near whiteout conditions...and extreme cold.

* other impacts: Wind chill temperatures 5 to 15 degrees below
zero.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

* do not travel! Stay inside! Strong winds and blinding snow will
make travel nearly impossible. This is a life threatening storm.
Even pedestrians in familiar areas may become disoriented.

* if you have to be outside dress in layers and leave no skin
exposed to the wind. Frostbite and life threatening hypothermia
can happen quickly.

this so reminds me of the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Miami Dolphins at Arrowhead in December 2008. It was the coldest game in Miami Dolphins history and the 2nd coldest game in Arrowhead history. My friend and I were there for a few days leading up to the game and we were wearing literally over 10 layers of tops and bottoms.

It was a noon kickoff where there was more than enough snow and ice. The wind gusts were over 40 MPH. The temperature at kickoff was 4 degrees with a wind chill of -12. By the time the game ended and we left around 4:15, the temperature was -8 with a wind chill of -23.

Never again! Oh and Miami won the game.

I'm fine for now, but once the boredom sets in...

For the last two and half hours I've been outside...until my hands quit working, and then run inside and warm up so I go back out.:(

On NE corner of campus, we got about 5-6 inches, but there is a half inch to inch of ice beneath it which will be a nightmare to deal with when it melts and then refreezes.

As a former claims adjuster, let me say it DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE SLIDING ON ICE!!!!! IF YOU HIT ANOTHER CAR, YOU ARE LIABLE FOR THE DAMAGES!!!!! SRSLY!!!!

So keep your beehind in the Barcalounger, and toast some marshmallows in the fireplace.

Damn right. Up here in DC it's like 35, no wind, and only snow stacked up from the last storm of doom.

Momma did say that this one was a 4 on the 1-10 scale of snowstorms of death. Last year's Christmas Eve storm smoked it by a mile. Only difference is that it's colder than your old lady's **** when you're in the room.

It's worse in the Tulsa area than last year. But we didn't get it as bad here in '09 as OKC did.

But do you have ICE. If you'd like, I'll show you pictures of ice that are so devistating that it will break this thread. Just ask.

I've seen snow and i've seen ice. This is the worst snow storm I have PERSONALLY ever seen. That being said, I'd take this over ice. Despite the 18 inches of snow or whatever it was I am sitting here in my toasty home typing on the computer. The 07 ice storm left us without power for 9 days. And the devastation from the 07 ice storm was nothing short of incredible.

Didn't actually have to go in today. 122nd was littered with cars and several were blocking our entrance. Plus our parking lot wasn't cleared.
