Someone asked me at work today: "what's the worst thing you would do before you rooted for Texas?"

I would check the BCS standings and hope that we wouldn't 'need' them to win.
Winning well, having a strong SOS and winning every game by a good margin prevents this sort of unnatural act.

Root for osu to beat texas, both are mortal sins.TX is #3 least fave team for me. I routinely root for them to beat orange aggy and domer. Just about anyone else, i will pull for against the cows.
Notable exception: I was a leader on this board in making the case after the ''05 season, however, for tx to beat the usuc condoms, who were scary close to our 47 game winning streak, with no likely losses on their horizon at the time. I was VERY relieved when bevo prevailed in that game.

Honestly, as long as they aren't playing OU, it wouldn't take too much. I'll never cheer for Texas to beat OU, but I like that this rivalry is between two elite programs. I absolutely loved Texas going 5-7, and would enjoy them doing it again next year just as much, but I would hate for them to be a non-bowl kind of team for the next 10-20 years. It's fun to hate on bad teams, but it's not so fun to hate on bad programs.

You know, I've been thinking about this... I do sometimes want tex to beat osu... but that's more of a case of wanting the upstart pokes to lose rather than wanting the cows to win...:O

Seeing how I've coached a few of the players at Texas, I will cheer for those specific players as long as they're not playing Oklahoma. Always good to see those you taught succeed at the next level.
I will never cheer for Texas though. Just a few specific players.
