I understand. Pace is about $4 for a jar that is what 16 oz? Oh, and it is moderate in taste. In fact, i can't really think of any commercial brand that is that good.

I make my own but it takes a fair amount of time. Having the seasonings pre-measured and ready to go, would be a big deal.

Like I said it aint me, A friend slod the finished product in several Super wallys in Fla.
Said he average selling 25 cases a day.per store.

Not sure if we had any out here at the last Ho-down or not.But everyone whos tasted it loves it

Jim made 2 gallons and brot it to the Tech Tailgate ;)

well, I'm not the target buyer--i have a huge cabinet full of spices and I rarely use pre-mixed spice stuff--but I think it sounds like a good deal. Honestly, it probably ought to be more than $2, though. On one hand, bargain shoppers will look at it and say, "hey, that's the cheapest one--i'll get that." but some people will look at it and say, "hey, that stuff's way cheaper; it can't possibly be any good."

also, maybe he should sell smaller packets... most people just look at total prices rather than the per ounce price.

I'd charge a premium for it, for all the reasons PG said.

...but unfortunately for you, my son Ben makes the World's Best Salsa. Thus, while I am curious about the taste of your packet-salsa, Ben's Shores of Hell Salsa will continue to be my picante of choice.

Heh, Caint nuthin beat what yer Kid makes ;)but for a commercial product this is dayum good stuff ;)
PG one of the biggest cost to this is the packaging , So while smaller packs may seem better, in reality its just making the end product cost more.

Thanks folks fer the feed back. Until this thread In had no idea that this was available anywhere.

If he loves doing it....he should keep making it. If people like it....they'll keep buying it. I do think it's good to know why people like your product but sometimes these Corporations do these feedback deals like Dominoes is doing in their commercial....it doesn't take a room full of people who say they love it to convince me....all it takes is a few bites of it. Like you said...packaging is the big part of the cost....so is trying to figure out why people like something. If he's selling it and they keep buying it and he loves the business....just keep doing it.

My taste of things changes from time to time and I like trying different kinds. For instance....I wouldn't eat Pace unless it was the last thing on Earth that makes the cockroaches taste better. :D

You sure it isn't more like 25 bottles a day? 25 cases a day with 24 per case per store is maybe more than anyone in America's Brand might sell. That's like 4200 packs or bottles a week. 126,000 a month and 1.5 million a year.

There is NO cumin in the salsa that I make. I have added a touch of celantro and some habeneros; other than that, it is Vet's original recipe. Glad ya liked it, Dean.
