I kinda wish that they couldn't advertise perscription medicines. If I really need any of that I think my doctor would let me know.

It used to drive my dad crazy when he'd have patients come in and ask them if "X" drug was "right for them." 99% of the time, they had absolutely no need for the drug whatsoever. But a lot of people would see the commercials, convince themselves they had some of the symptoms, and then demand to be put on the drug.

I've never been able to figure out the reason why prescription drugs would be advertised to the general public.

In college my french professor said the same thing and that in Europe it's either illegal for them to advertise them or just not accepted because you never see any of that crap over there. But they also get 12 min of commercial and then an uninterupted episode, sounds pretty nice too.

Yeah, the idea of making it illegal to advertise prescription drugs comes up every few years. I'm 200% opposed to that, but I still hate prescription drug commercials. Surely that revenue would be better spent elsewhere.

Those ads do seem to run too often.
