Well, he said "This isn't over". Its Chicago, you knew someone would get paid under the table to get him in there.

Amazing how even the Illinois Supreme Court is corrupt...no way you could honestly rule in his favor since he has been living in DC for 2 years...

Chicago politics are so disgusting and dirty. Anyone who gets into politics in the Chicago area, even with the purest of intentions, will end up being corrupt as well.

from reading the article the Illinois Supreme has given the right to anyone to run for Mayor in Chicago, even if you dont care to live there....

"The state Supreme Court ruled unanimously in Emanuel's favor, saying an appeals court decision that said the candidate needed to be physically present in Chicago was "without any foundation in Illinois law.""

So I wonder if any of those that were denied a place on previous ballots due to the Municipal Code will now be suing for denial of civil rights?

When you are in the military, you can continue to call your hometown your place of residence regardless of where you are stationed. Perhaps that is why the Illinois Supreme Court deemed Chicago to be his place of residence despite his government service in D.C.

Nahhhh, it is just Chicago politics as usual.:D

Apples and organges comparison.
When on active duty, they say go, you have no choice on moving!
(Oh, I guess you could protest and refuse.....maybe divulge some state secrets and sell them to Wikileaks or the Mob and get ouit of moving.)

The Municipal Code defines who is eligible to run for office and vote. It provides the exemption for those on US business to an "elector (read voter) or spouse" but not for candidates. I think this article explains it the best.
