Looks like the recruiting experts missed on a couple guys. . .

Interesting that there were no five star guys in there. That would be different if Landry and DeMarco had made the teams.

Very cool list. I expected the defense to be dominated by 3 or 4 *s all around. It seems that it's much easier for a 3* to make a major impact on the offensive side rather than on the defensive side

It's not too surprising that 3 & 4 star guys dominate the list, because the vast, vast majority of the recruits in the big 12 are those guys. What is surprising is that there are no 5 star guys. This speaks to how terrible Texas' recruits have panned out recently since they're the only guys that get tons of 5* guys every year.

I guess this speaks to OSU's improvement. If there's one team around that can get boatloads of 3 star guys, it's OSU.

:P

Landry wasn't a 5 star. Demarco was only a 5 star on scout but they give about 70 players 5 stars every year. Rivals only gives out about 25-30 a year. Stars don't really mean jack sh*t anyway.

I thought Landry was the #5 QB? I remember him being a 5...

Landry made the elite 11, but was 4 stars.. I think he threw 46 TD's his junior year alone though.

Also, Kendall Hunter didn't play his senior year in HS when the stars were released so that hurt him in that department. However many people that follow recruiting in the state of Texas said that OSU got the best RB and the best WR in Texas in 2007.

Those players were Dez Bryant and Hunter.

What about the best DE in Richetti Jones? Wasn't he in that same class? Does he even still play?! :P

Yea Richetti was in that class but with the severity of his injury in HS, no one knew how he would recover.

And also toast, who was better than Hunter and Bryant at their respective positions from Texas in 2007

Texas gets a bunch of 5* players every year because whoever they select automatically gets upgraded. Face it, they have not done a good job evaluating talent recently. (Actually, they are good at evaluating 'junior talent'... but too stupid to save some ships for the blossoming seniors.)

Texas takes 5 star recruits and turns them into 3 stars
