I don't resent him at all, but he comes across as arrogant sometimes, and this following thread, which is a "look at me, at "celebrity" recognized my existence!" thread doesn't help his cause.

Bragging about being friends with football players just makes you a tool. A bunch of football players lived next to me and my buddies in college, and we would party and hang out together. They are normal dudes, just like any one else on campus, being friends with them is not some great accomplishment, or something to brag about.

Some posters meet a famous person and tell us about it, because it is kinda cool. And they joke that knowing so-and-so makes them better than the rest of us belly-crawling dirt-eaters. But they are joking. oudavid1 actually seems to believe he's special because he knows some famous Sooners and can drop their names. And he flaunts it; how shallow can you get? (Shallow enough to be impressed by it, I guess.) As far as I can tell, he's all wrapped up in who he knows rather than who he is.
Maybe he'll grow out of it.
Or maybe it'll make him filthy rich. Whatever.
