View Full Version : Peppers hit on Rodgers

With the way the NFL has been targeting head shots to the qb's, I'm curious as to how big a fine Julius Peppers will be hit with. Or if it will be ignored.

The entire thing looked like a take-out shot in my opinion. Peppers but a bullseye on Rodgers' temple and went right through him.

Opinions?

I honestly couldn't believe Rodgers got up from that hit. It was brutal.

Definite knockout blow. Rodgers is a tough SOB. Peppers has always been a little dirty though.

It would have put Cutler in the hospital.

So if he would have knocked Rodgers out of the game and the Bears had won, would Obama pay him under the table to cover the fine? :D

Also....it was a nasty hit. Rodgers is tough.

It should be a big fine...that was a perfect example of head hunting.

That was my thoughts as well. It was an opportunity for Peppers to knock Rodgers out of the game and he tried his best.

Notice that after that hit is when Rodgers began to have trouble. Its probably hard to complete a pass when every receiver has 2 extra images.

Rodgers is a tough hombre, and Peppers is more than just a "little" dirty. It's all those roids taking the meat from his boys and putting it in his head.

I think it was this hit that convinced our would-be pro bowler chad clifton to get back on the field after his own injury. tj lang unfortunately was just not cutting it. :(

He was doing okay, but Peppers is a beast. Good to know that the Steelers don't have anyone that good... He's probably the best right now.

Rough hit, didn't look as bad to me as the punch Rodgers took from Briggs to the head during the tackle though. Hand to head is almost always called. Peppers paid for Briggs penalty.

No kidding. I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one that didn't think it should be a penalty. For decades, that was the prototypical hit on the QB that defensive players lived for. The ball was still in Rodgers' hand when his body was completely engulfed by Peppers. Awesome hit.

I hated Favre for the same reason everyone hates Tebow...I hated Rodgers when he was at Cal, so it ain't nothin new to me to be hatin on him. Long live Matt Flynn!

And sheeeit Dean, you know that they didn't allow no women to be doctors in Kansas back in the day....it was against God's will or some nonsense. ;)

Now that helmet to helmet is now against the rules in football and everyone seems to have the biggest problem with it, what about these othere rules that used to be legal but now are outlawed.

Banned facemask tackles (1956)
Banned clothesline tackles (1960s)
Banned the head slap (1977)
Banned blocking below the waist (1970s)
Stopped play when QB was in the grasp (1979)
Banned clipping anywhere on the field (1999)
Banned horse-collar tackles (2006)

Lets bring em all back.
