Packers/Steelers Superbowl would be nice....but a Rex Ryan media frenzy leading up to the Superbowl would be funny as hell. I also wouldnt mind seeing Aaron Rodgers matchup against that Jets secondary.

I didn't like that we ended our half-ending big drive with an INT. However, I liked that Chi Chi ended their half-ending big drive with an INT :D

14-0 Pack. Two quarters till the Super Bowl. Six quarters till the Super Bowl ring. No, not being cocky. Just imagining what Coach McCarthy is saying in the lockerroom right now. I'm not sure da Bears know this game is for the Super Bowl. Or perhaps, they're just very cold. Brrrrrr

Chicago looking like they have no business in a superbowl discussion.

1/23/2011, 05:03 PM
so far i would have to give the mvp of the game to rogers. throwing for a lot of yards, ran for a td, and yes i know he threw a couple int's, but he did make a td saving tackle.

Soonerite
1/23/2011, 05:05 PM
No doubt that he has played like an MVP. He'll only get better as he gets older too. So much upside.

That's why it didn't bother me too much that he was traded away from Denver, he is a petulant primadona that expects to be treated with a level of respect that he hadn't earned yet. He is another Jeff George, a QB with a big arm and pea brain that gets him into trouble as much as anything else.

I just want the Packers to whip up on whoever the AFC representative is.

I hope this last win gives us enough poll votes to make the championship game. The point margin might not impress the computers though.

At least it will be a normal Super Bowl without the WH presence. Was rooting for the Bears until he weighed in and then reluctantly pulled for the Packers. After watching Cutler, rooting for the Packers became even easier.

Cutler and Collins -- wouldn't want either of them on a team I really liked.

BTW, Aaron Rodgers got a 35 on the Wonderlic. :pop:

Does anybody know what year this rule was put in the book and why. I've been watching football for 40 years and have never heard of this rule. This sounds like taking a pitcher off the mound...its not baseball...its football with free subs.

found the reason for the 3rd QB rule...

Third quarterback rule
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search

The third quarterback rule is a rule in the National Football League that governs the use of a third quarterback in addition to the starter and the backup. The third quarterback does not count towards the team's 45-man active roster. If the third quarterback enters the game at any position during any of the first three quarters, the starter and backup become ineligible to play for the rest of the game;[1] the third quarterback can enter the game in the fourth quarter while preserving the eligibility of the starter and backup.

The full text of the rule is:

Teams will be permitted an Active List of 45 players and an Inactive List of eight players for each regular-season and postseason game. Provided that a club has two quarterbacks on its 45-player Active List, a third quarterback from its Inactive List is permitted to dress for the game, but if he enters the game during the first three quarters, the other two quarterbacks are thereafter prohibited from playing.[2]

Although it is not specifically indicated, the NFL has interpreted its rule to mean that in order to designate a third quarterback, the two on the active roster must both be "bona fide" quarterbacks, not other position players merely designated as quarterbacks.[3]
[edit] History

The third quarterback rule was instituted for the 1991 NFL season in reaction to a 1990 game between the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles. In that game—sometimes called "The Body Bag Game"—Redskins lost both starting quarterback Jeff Rutledge and backup Stan Humphries to injuries. Without a third quarterback on their active roster, Washington had to either use a different player for that position or forfeit the game. Brian Mitchell, a running back who played quarterback in college, completed the game in the quarterback position. The Redskins lost to the Eagles, 28-14.[4]
