I'm gonna put a semi-serious spin on this thing.
I told this story in some other obscure thread several days ago that nobody read. So I'ma tell it here:
I get off the Metro at the Archives/Navy Memorial this past MLK day. The streets are deserted - except for flashing lights of police cars. HUNDREDS of them. Every intersection down Pennsylvania Ave. was blocked off. There were choppers circling overhead. As I walked towards the FBI building some of the cops were screaming down the street to "get that G-damned vehicle of the G-damned road!!!" The vehicle in question was another police SUV with the lights going. It didn't matter, it had to be moved.
So, I'm thinking "something good is fixin' to happen." WRONG. I see a ****pot of flashing lights coming towards me. Motorcycles. At least 20+ of them with lights going. Then, another 20+ cop cars with lights going. Then come the limos. Black, sleek and long, just like Obama's dick. 3-4 matching stretch pimp caddies with the Presi-muh****in-dential flag flying off the fender. Then come the black Suburbans. I was please to see a half-dozen black Expeditions mixed in with them, and another dozen or so black vans. All black windows, several with the machine gun turrets on the roof. All this was followed up by another 20+ cars with lights going, and another half-dozen motorcycles. There was traffic backed up everywhere.
I thought this was some important ****. When I get back to my apartment, it seems that the POS bear fan and his ho of a wife and their two little chillrens went to some middle school on Capitol Hill to paint an apple on a pole in the cafeteria so the kids would know to eat healthier. Are you ****ing kidding me? That cost the taxpayers enough to feed/cloth/bathe/take care of at least 500 families in the DC area for a year.
**** Obama. A trip to Dallas for the game will cost us MILLIONS.
Before you get all uppity, I've been up here for several GWB motorcades, a couple Clinton motorcades, and one George Bush motorcade. All together they didn't add up to half of the head pimp's deal. I'm not going to be uppity about it, but I'll bite on your argument, which as far as I can tell is:
- Obama is vain;
- In order to feed his vanity he spends more on security than previous presidents; and
- This security presence, in addition to being expensive, is unnecessary.
Your argument seems to be based a lot on assumptions and anecdotes. Anecdotally, from what I've heard, Obama is the subject of more legitimate death threats than any previous president, so it may have something to do with that.
Although, anecdotally, in your defense, I was in Kennebunkport once, driving through town; the golf course crossed the road, and Bush Senior was playing through...as I recall, there were only two state cruisers, two SUVs, and a couple of black golf carts with men in suits, but no clubs.

The three limos are meant to confuse attackers so they don't know which vehicle the POTUS is in. Some former secret service were talking about that on the History Channel the other day. And I have no doubts that Obama is receiving more threats than previous Presidents....especially judging from the attitudes of people around here.

And think of Mark Bradley, whom the Bears traded away, and JD Runnels, who was cut quickly, and Dusty Dvoracek, who was cut after injuries.

President Obama IS the sitting president of these United States. The office of president deserves our respect whether you agree with the policies of this current president or not.
In my opinion, President Obama will most likely be re-elected to another term in office by the majority of Americans. Republicans need to come up with a viable solution to our economic problems and something other than a campaign of hate, misinformation and outright lies, if they are to stand a chance.
Deal with that.
My other predictions: the pack is going to be manhandled today and Brett Farve emails out a few more pics of his penis.

Bush was the worst president ever in terms of economic, foreign and domestic social policies and I gave valid reasons for that opinion at that time. Anytime a US President commits our military to a foreign war, it should be open to public debate and that debate should never be confused with support for our brave men and women who serve our country.
So, I appreciate any constructive criticism and debate of the policies of the current US government. Disrespect of the office and lame throwaways like calling President Obama things like socialist, communist or marxist is probably a better reflection of the poster than it is of the administration.
I called him a bad dresser too. So we can agree with that?

That doesn't mean they weren't blinded by anger and not thinking rationally. Today it would be like if terrorists in Laos attacked us, so we decide to invade North Korea. I never was in favor of going into Iraq. However, as much as I disagreed with Bush, I respected his position and respected that he was privy to more information than I. And had to deal with much more stress and pressure than me. But I did vote to have him re-elected over Kerry still. Don't assume you know everything.

I love how people trot this out now that Bush isnt the President.
If you thought GWB was some sort of genius after seeing what he did as Governor, you seriously had your head in the sand. Obamas greatest mistake was thinking people in this Country really want to make things better. Whether your Republican or Democrat....all most people want is a for sure deal that has very little risk and a return that will allow them to sit on their ***. The people who really work their asses off get very little in return these days and Reagan, Bush, Clinton,Little Bush and yes Obama have done nothing but really make the laziest folks in our Country....even more comfortable. The greedy folks who really have everything they need are concerned that no matter who's incharge...the rest of us will soon be eating our Family pets instead of turning off our cell phones.
