Look at this kid!

He eats souls and craps helmets! Why are we not in on this?

I would like to see a highlight reel that doesn't make a player look like the next coming of Marcus Dupree.

BTW, he is from SC, so why would we even recruit him unless he expressed interest in our program?

I have seen quite a few highlight films, but don't know that I have seen DE that dominated like that. Given his opponents were very small and nothing like he will see in the SEC if he is going with Spurrier. We'll see.

I'm reminded me of the time the highlight reels of Noel Devine hit the Internet. Whoever was going to land him was going to score a 1000 points per game, because he could not be tackled. He would outrun everyone, dance around every tackle, and blast through any defender.

And he did turn out to be a pretty good RB, but defenses still managed to tackle him. All these players look awesome in highlight reels.

kid is a lot bigger than his competition, but still a stud. #1 recruit in the country per rivals.

The kid's obviously a freak. But as I'm watching that I'm wondering why he comes through the line so often completely unblocked. Many times no one was even lined up across from him. Weird.

Is it just me or does the state of South Carolina put out a bunch of high end DE talent?

2 words.

Hard count.

The kid is very very good. he jumps the snap alot. Most of his highlights are one on one with tackles. Not a lot of zone reads in the tape either. But he is still the #1 overall recruit in my opinion.

I didn't think he was that impressive in the h.s. Under armour game during bowl week, but he's going to the sec so why care...

We will see what happens. We don't know his work ethic, which could determine his outcome. Remember Moe Dampeer? He was supposed to be the best 5 star can't miss guy. The talent was there, but lazy and unmotivated.

Plus, as others have said, a lot of these guys dominate against High School kids. It's important to remember virtually anyone can play High School ball. I want to see it done at least at the D1 level before a judgment can be made.

We have also seen 3 star kids turn out to be unreal. It's easy to look at stars and think whoever gets that guy is going to have an unreal team. There is a lot of hit and miss with these subjective stars, IMHO.

DEs are almost impossible to project coming out of HS. They're kind of a tweener size in most cases, and how do you target that? Anyone coming out 6'6 250 is going to eat themselves until they're too slow to pass rush, or into a small DT. And if you're looking at guys that are 6'5 220, then you'd better hope they can gain at least 30# or they'll be manhandled by all the 300# tackles out there.

IMO, we do a great job of this. We get lots of tweeners that can either eat themselves into DEs or stay thin and be solid OLBs or MLBs.

I don't think Curtis Lofton played in that game. He is dominating the NFL and that would have helped. A big part of OU's bowl woes were due to injury. OU won every bowl game that Murray was in. :)

This guy just played in the Under Armor or Army AA game........

He was good, but not the best DE on his team. I think his competition was helping him some in that reel.

It's just you.

Da'quan Bowers and Gaines Adams were both highly touted DEs from SC. For as small as it is, I was just surprised so many DE rated as supposedly "top 3" or number one recruit in the nation. I get the Florida, Texas, Cali thing. Just thought it was weird coming from SC.

Then it wouldn't be called a highlight reel, dummy.

I'm in SC and have seen this kid play a couple of times. Sure he'd be a great addition, but kids around here only care about Clemson, UNC, and the SEC. If you're looking for a "team first" kid, this is not your choice. He has decided to not sign on national signing day, 2 Feb, but is waiting until his birthday, February 14th to make known his choice. This screams of "LOOK AT ME!!". No doubt it will be on one of the ESPNs.

The local rag says he's down to between USC or Bama, but he tentatively has a visit to FSU this weekend.

When I watched the highlights I thought he had a keen awareness of where the ball is at all times and never gives up on a play. Nice traits but will it translate to to the next level? Time will tell.

6'6", 254lbs, starting on the #18 team in the country. Has a couple tackles and some sacks. Looks like he's fairing OK in the college game.
