He was the premier rock promoter of the 70's. Almost every group, or singles act has ties to him.

His funeral will be preceded by two opening funerals.*

Bummer. Don Kirshner's Rock Concert was a staple of my pot-smoking youth.

I'd put a huge glass of milk into the freezer, go outside and roll up a doob, smoke said doob, then come back in right when Rock Concert was starting. I'd make a couple of thick PBJ sammiches, some Nacho Doritos (back then those were the only flavored doritos - and I had to use crappy smooth peanut butter cause they weren't making the crunchy kind yet), and get my rock on. When the peanut butter and the cotton mouth were getting almost suffocating, I'd get that ice cold glass of milk out and pound it down. Man, nothing beat that ****.

RIP dude. I watched a lot of your stuff.

You know what's scary? I know of every single one of these groups/people, and have seen maybe half of them live.

I see crap the youngsters post on here and I go "who?" I am blessed - beyond blessed - to have grown up in the golden age of rock and mother****ing roll. Thank you Lord.

No, it's because you weren't into the hippy drug R&R scene.

How many concerts did you go to in the 60's/70's?

This why I ranted against the 90's being the best decade for Rock.
