Why the hell would 2 movies with such close and confusing names be released close to the same time?

When I first heard that the Green Hornet was out this weekend I was all happy because I thought I was gonna get to see Ryan Reynolds in tights.

But that's the wrong movie and it looks like I'll have to wait a few months for that.

Green Hornet was suppose to come out last summer, but they pushed it back to January. Otherwise known as the dumping ground for bad movies month.

Green Lantern is scheduled for this summer.

My gf said the exact same thing this morning. They always tend to do that though, release two almost identical movies at around the same time.

Has anyone seen the Green Hornet? I've heard the toys and car are cool but the movie (script) sucks. I've seen the previews, and I can't believe they have made this into a bumbling comedy.

Hollywood is a circle jerk?

Except for ROCKY. That was sole masturbation, in all it's wondrous, Philly glory.

they have GREEN in common, that's about it.

the Green Hornet is the Lone Ranger's distant relative that fights crime

the Green Lantern is a normal dude that has an alien ring that has a bunch of powers

I liked him Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared, basically all the Judd Apatow stuff but his schtick is getting old.

Have no desire to see that movie, and I sorta liked the old green hornet. Scifi channel was running a marathon last week. Had the same narrator (and probably everything else) as the old Batman tv show starring Adam West.

mmm...Ryan Reynolds.

I know, right?

The biggest difference it one of them has Ryan Reynolds, the other doesn't.
