I'd pick the Packers, but not the Ravens.

I think I was picking the Pats. But that is a homer pick for me, so there wasn't a lot of forethought in that.

one thing that i notice is the disrespect for Chicago....

If GB and Chicago win this week, the NFC Championship game is in Chicago.

There's no disrespect for Chicago in my opinion. You haven't heard about them this week because of their opponent. Atlanta is the team getting no love from the media. Maybe they don't deserve it but they are #1 seed for a reason. What would be really funny is GBay and Seattle winning and a 9-9 team hosting the NFC championship game. I still say the 5 NFC teams not named Seattle would be a pick on neutral fields. It's wide open in the NFC.

RECAP: The Packers are one of the two teams I love this weekend. Here are my reasons:

1. You have to bet on a Super Six quarterback (Manning, Brady, Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Brees, Rivers) whenever they're underdogs. Collectively, these eli...te signal-callers are 91-43 against the spread when getting points since 2003.

2. Speaking of Rodgers, he hasn't lost a game by more than three points all year. This probably would be my Pick of the Month if the Falcons were favored by three. If you can buy the extra half point, do it.

3. The Road Warriors trend I listed below: Playoff teams coming off a road win in Round 1 are 7-2 against the spread in Round 2 since 2005. This is no fluke; hot, battle-tested road teams understandably fare very well against flat opponents coming off a bye. This system also applies to the Baltimore-Pittsburgh game.

4. Speaking of cold bye teams, playoff squads with a week off are 10-18 against the spread since 2003 (7-13 since 2005).

5. There are high expectations in Atlanta. The Falcons are the No. 1 seed, and if they lose right away, their season will be considered a colossal failure. However, this regime has not won a playoff game before, and in all my years of handicapping the NFL, I've noticed that high expectations in the playoffs combined with no successful experience usually proves to be disastrous.

6. Something I posted back in Week 12: Atlanta's pristine home record isn't exactly legitimate. Most of Matt Ryan's home wins involve beating terrible teams.

In his first two years, he played only one team that would go on to the postseason (2008 Panthers - a fraud team led by Jake Delhomme). He lost to the Saints a few weeks ago (which shattered the Georgia Dome's invincibility), and beat the Packers and Ravens this year, but Baltimore had to travel on a short week and Green Bay outgained Atlanta by 124 yards in a game it should have won.

Maybe he's right but 1 of those wins is against this same Gr Bay team. Also this Baltimore team playing right now. And Tampa Bay which finished a game out of the playoffs. That was just this year. So I guess what he's saying is other than the three above the other 17 or so have been horrible teams.

And I wonder if he said that before the week 12 games or after. Just so happens week 12 Green Bay travelled to Atlanta.

I think it's going to be a great game. I'm glad the Falcons' players have expressed their displeasure of the lack of love they are receiving in favor of Green Bay. I think they will come out w/ even extra motivation than they otherwise would have.

Also the statement "their season would be a colossal failure" isn't accurate either. As a fan I'm glad their in this position. Their coach said they had a 3-4 year plan to build this program up. Well they are a year ahead of schedule. Would they be disappointed if they lost? Sure, who wouldn’t? But there's little pressure on this team to be in Arlington.

Baltimore is falling apart. Maybe they shouldn't have been saluting and talking schit heading in at halftime.

neither team has really done anything on offense.. Most of all these points are off turnovers... like turnovers inside the others 25 yard line

I wsa about to say that. Pitt's going to have about 110 yard of offense and 3 scores in the 2nd half.
