Canucks no longer can listen to "Money for Nothing" on their nation's radio stations.

Those damned socialists. Next they will be banning Rush's Libertarian themed songs.

I can't remember the last time I heard that verse over the airwaves here.

It's greatness that the entire song is poking fun at a bitter, bigoted man, and it's still being stricken 25 years later.

Canada...........................America's hat.

That's all I got. Good song, sorry straight Canucks.

I'm happy as long as I can listen to Walk of Life (on repeat for hours on end).

This is also the country where for years certain parts of Monday Night Raw have gone to a blank screen because of the country's ban on "depictions of violence towards women." Canucks are funny.

Back when I had Sirius radio I was listening to the 80's station. They edited that line out of the song.

They have no problem playing it on Tulsa radio though.

Who the hell listens to Dire Straits anyhow? They sucked back in the day, and nothing has changed. All their **** sounds exactly the same. Meh.

I remember seeing part of a Dire Straights concert on tv back in the 80s when this song was still hot on the radio. The concert was taped in England where that particular word still means cigarette rather than gay man. Instead of saying that word, Knopfler used the word queenie.

The point being, of course, he is speaking from the point of view of this rough around the edges blue collar guy. No different than the N word being used in Mark Twain books, but the PC police are incapable of using common sense.

That is a major bummer. Never noticed any editing on Sirius? I usually stick to the talk stations (122, 144) but the 80s and hairnation are a couple of my fave music stations.

I thought that was one of the great appeals of Satellite radio - no censorship?

Can't say faggot? Wow.....back in the 80's in middle school and high school we would have been run out of Canada.

Must be a bunch of faggots making the rules up there......:D

Canadian beer does not fall anywhere within the bell curve of "good beer." It's ok. Barely.
