In no particular order in Dallas at the AFCA

Steve Spurrier (got trashed and was offering drinks to everyone in sight)
Bret Bielema (loves to party big time but a really cool guy)
Skip Holtz (very, very nice man)
R.C Slocum (unreal nice and maybe my favorite coach to talk to. Loves Stoops)
Bob Stoops (very business like, but accomodating and friendly. Signed probably a dozen autographs for other coaches while I was there)
Cale Gundy (hard to judge...seemed ok)
Mike Gundy (Seemed pissed about something all the time)
Paul Rhodes (very nice man)
Mike Sherman (not interesting at all, very boring guy)
Barry Alvarez (also likes to party)
Jim Tressel (Seemed like a shady guy. Very weasel like)
Bobby Bowden (very nice but also very busy)
Kyle Wittingham (Very nice guy. Very down to Earth)
Ron Zook (Cool guy. Seemed like he was bored)
Gary Patterson (nice man, intense. Looks nothing like a football coach should)
Gary Pinkle (seemed like a jerk)
June Jones (nice guy....very boring to talk to)
Fisher Deberry (very nice man...Lives in Grove, OK)
Art Briles (nice guy, but like other coaches seemed bored)

That was it I think. Overall a cool experience getting to talk to these coaches that I grew up watching for so many years.

BoomerBradley (Exaggerated everything, even people he had met)
Jlew (Talked about how awesome he was at predicting games.. hmm...)

I also met BTK (He never got over the hot tail at the pool at my apartment complex)

I met Albq (Had the craziest stories involving alcohol and waking up in Mexico)

I met Vet (Kept asking people to pet his weenie)

I met STEP (Pretty sure he is either Bill Brasky or Chuck Norris)

I met StoopTroop (His wife makes great enchiladas and he enjoys sleeping in his car)

How about Pics, And the back story ?

I work at the hotel where they are/were staying in Dallas in a guest relations role which allows me to float around and talk to people.

As far as exaggerated everything soonermagic I work there and it's my job to see how everything is going. But thanks for being a dik for no reason

PS I can't take pics with or of anyone famous there. I'm not sure why but that's what I was told by my bosses. I guess it looks unprofessional

met with Coach Stoops for about 30 minutes right after he got hired - perfect way to describe him, BB.

met Coach Spurrier at UF - nice enough, but seemed like his mind was still on the golf course thinking about his game.

met Ron Zook at UF as well - great guy, very positive, and VERY high energy.

Dude, I was just messing with you; I really do believe you. I just saw it as an opportunity to take some cheap shots. ;)

On a side note, I met Leroy too. He was arguing with himself and losing, but was slowly gaining ground. :P

I guess some here have seen the RC Slocum "vacation" pics (from years ago) thread that was floating around on the internet? Slocum and Spurrier seemed like they enjoy having a good time. There were other coaches there but I can't remember which ones.

Thanks for posting this -- would have pegged most of the coaches with what you had to say. Sounds like a neat job you have especially with this event.

I will say if you get a chance to meet Bobby Bowden, it will be one of the happiest moments of your life. Great Coach and person. I've had the pleasure of meeting him multiple times.

I wish you would have told me about the coaches because I would have accidently bumped into a few. Where was the conference at?

The people I met last weekend:

Robert Allen...he walked out of the party with a pie, large chips and a large sausage sandwich. A homeless men was sitting there and said "I haven't eaten for two days". Allen said "I wish I had your will power"

Les Miles....said he was passing on the Michigan job. LSU fans are so upset that some are just jumping in the river...

Former MU running back Derrick Washington said his favorite pick-up line was 'Excuse me love, could I ask your opinion? Does this damp cloth smell like chloroform to you?'

Tatum Bell was there....he was parking cars.

Adam James was there but he ticked us off so made him sit in the closet.

Good party.

Were you at the AFCA? I stayed in Dallas on Sunday night at the Crown Plaza near Mockingbird and Love Field Airport, and seen some coaches I didn't know like from FAU, so I was just wondering if you stayed at the same hotel as Stoops? I didn't see anyone that I knew.
