I also hear Oklahoma DC Brent Venables may be in the mix at Tulsa.

BV is happy in Norman. I'm glad he is.

Normally, I would say that BV should wait for a better gig.
But, the Tulsa job has proven to be a great spring board for good coaches and a death spiral for not so good coaches.
If he turns out to be a good HC, he could have a good gig in 3-5 years.

I am not trying to stir the pot on whether or not he should go, I just thought it was interesting

There are worse places to live and be a head football coach. This may be tempting for Brent.

In 15-20 years he will be 55ish. Not seeing it.

Also from the recruiting standpoint,,appears Graham pulled in a pretty good group of kids this yr.

lol I would be shocked if he left for Tulsa. He wants to win a national title to bolster his resume. He could be the next guy in line to get a big job if he's patient.

Nothing against Tulsa. They are a decent football program but BV probably could have had a better job this offseason if he really wanted it.

Stoops should name BV head-coach-in-waiting to put an end to this kind of talk. ;)

Yes, the OC/DC coordinators on title contender teams always seem to get offered great jobs.

Agreed. But I would also agree with the OP that stated a National Title would really help out. I would say that he is ready for a head coaching gig though.

Kinda hoping they give Kragthorpe a second go at the job, very interesting concept.
Kragthorpe had a lot of drive the first time around, wondering if he could pull it together again in familiar surroundings?
He's been in Tulsa while his boy played QB at Holland Hall.

Kragthorpe himself has told a member of the Tulsa media that TU told him no thanks.

Where is Kragthorpe now?

He was Texas A&M's WR coach. I believe he resigned earlier this year though.

Yeah, if I remember the story in the Tulsa World from late Summer...he resigned and moved back to Tulsa to be near his ill wife.
