Almost an even split between offense and defense through the first round. Fairley is good but he is no Suh (catch Musberger saying he had a rep as a being a "dirty player?"). He wouldn't be the #1 overall pick most years. Only 4 QB's in that Top 50. Maybe Andrew Luck should reconsider coming out this year.

Luck staying in school really messes with this draft...

I personally would take Peterson if he can run that 4.42 as reported

Assuming Cam Newton declares, where does he go?

Not sure yet..None of the 20-32 teams need a quarterback, so even though I have him at 18 now, he will either be a reach for a Miami, Minnesota, Washington, they trade down, or he goes in the 2nd..

I really don't like him at the next level...But have to go with the buzz right now

A 6'1 222 lb corner that runs in the 4.4s...He is as big as our MLBs and can blanket cover...He is big time

If they can't trade down, they have to go defense IMO..

Cowboys have a lot of work to do this off season.

Unfortunately I don't think Peterson or Amukamara will fall to 9th. If they do fall that far, definitely snatch either one of them up. Asomugha would be a nice pickup as long as they don't have to break the bank to sign him. His last contract was ridiculous. I wouldn't expect him to earn the $14MM-$15MM a year he was making, but I'm betting who ever he signs with he'll want a longer deal since he'll be 30 next year. He'd still be a pricey FA signing and I don't know if Jerry wants to do that with the lockout looming.

Cowboys definitely need to get younger across the O-line, just not sure if there are any sure fire guys in the draft this year. If they draft O-line guys I think they'd just be projects.

Hoping the return of a healthy John Phillips will help with some run blocking. The Marty B experiment has to end as the TE opposite Witten. Need to have a competition or look to draft the other OLB opposite Ware. Spencer was a huge dissapointment this year. They need to find a true DT and move Ratliff over to Olshanky's DE spot.

Might also need to look for the eventual replacement of Bradie James at ILB. Definitely need to find a true FS and not just plug a CB back there. Yeah, Cowboys need a major roster overhaul this offseason.

It could happen but I seriously doubt it...A few of the teams in front could use him..I'm not really sure what trade bait the Rams could use to move up a few spots unless they did a 1st and 2nd round pick with somone

I hope the Colt's don't draft a tight end with there first pick. They have postions they need filled way worse than tight ends. Like recievers or d-backs, maybe even a running back.

What do you think Carolina does...is the Clausen experiment officially over...do they take someone like Mallet or look for a free agent QB and go with D?

They are currently leaning towards the Jimmy Clausen experiment being over. Carolina might take a QB, but I really think they need more receivers. I would trade Steve Smith for a pick. My opinion is that Smith is past his prime and it's time to step aside for some younger talent. I can't handle Carolina being this ****ty of a football team much longer.

14 really isn't a great spot to be in for an offensive player, unless they wanted to get a guard for the Oline maybe a DB....I think this WR class is Jones and Green, and then everyone else...I think they could pick up a good WR in the 2nd round and address one of those other needs in the 1st

CowboyMRW, You asked me about Greg Jones the other day..He is guy starting to creep up some, and he has worked his way into the middle of the 2nd.

That guy was a beast.

Also STEP, I saw that Andrew McGee got an invite to the combine. Does he have a chance to go in like the 6th round.

And I was wondering about Orie Lemon. Do you think he'll play at the next level?

Pretty much what I'm asking is what OSU players will get drafted this year. I always thought that physically, Ugo Chinasa, had all the tools. He just didn't perform in my mind.

stoops the eternal pimp
1/14/2011, 04:25 PM
I would say McGee has a chance to go in the 6th, but I think he would be better off as a UDFA...and pick a team to work out with.

Orie Lemon- Lemon is a solid tackler, but doesn't have a lot of lateral speed...Its possible he could play, but it would take the right situation..He sits around the end of the draft now...

Chinasa needs some more weight...and keep his speed..He didn't play well this year, but NFLers don't care..If he can play with an extra 15-20 lbs and not lose a step, he'll stick...Probably a 5th-6th round guy

I don't think Amukamara makes it past Dallas.

I've got Beal as a late 2nd/early 3rd round pick...Early 60s overall

Quinton Carter is somebody I am not sure on right now..I've seen him anywhere from the 2nd-5th..I don't know how he fits in the league...Great against the run, but is severely late at times recognizing where he needs to be in coverage, back pedal is too high and gets sucked in on play action even when there really isn't a run threat..I say 3rd on him right now to be safe.

Jonathan Nelson is an UDFA right now..Playing in the E-W Shrine game, he'll get a chance to show what he can do

With Kenney not getting invited anywhere, its going to be tough..Oklahoma Pro Day is it the way it appears, which is probably the best pro day in the country with the way it is ran and the way NFL teams like it.

Kenney was working out in Atlanta to get himself ready. Haven't heard if he decided to come back to Norman or stay out there.

over 300 prospects get invited to the combine, because they are considered draftable.

Kenney had a great end stretch, but his overall body of work isn't good. Hands, concentration issues..
