No they showed the chrome helmets in some clips they ran before the game. They are sort of a dirty silver without that pattern stamped across them. I wish I could remember which game they wore them in, but I remember that the announcers said they would not be using them after that game.

No, they're the same. The helmet had a yellow O decal against Portland State and a white O decal against Oregon State, but it's the same helmet.

i wouldn't to see the Sooners in anything like that. The Ducks aren't the Sooners and never will be. The NCAA, the School, or the Oregon Legislature will shut them down sooner than later. Everyone is going to want some of that money. They are already skirting around the law to funnel money into the football program. Some greedy politician will find a way to stick it to them.

I thought they should have ran out in school colors as well, but remember that they were the away team that game (got the coin toss and were #2 in polls) and thus, had to defer home uni privileges to the Tigers and therefore, white uni. But they made that white uni unique at least.

I thought the yellow socks and shoes made them look like they all had duck feet. :D

Oregon suffered defeat at the hands of Cam Newton and Auburn last night in the 2011 BCS championship game. How'd those Oregon guys get to looking so sharp? And why did those uniforms look the way they did?

"Oregon is one of the fastest teams in the nation, and we wanted them to look fast," Todd Van Horn, Nike's top football uniform designer, tells us. (Van Horn was on his way home from the game, and his voice was more than a little hoarse.) Visually, the colorway of the uniforms is meant to bring your eyes to the fastest moving parts of the player's bodies -- the hands, and in particular the shins, which move twice as fast as the thighs do while running. The bright yellow socks, which blended seamlessly into the cleats, drew attention to that fact.

I didn't see Auburn having too much time figuring out where the lame duck player was and tackling him to the ground...That "fast" looking uniform didn't help them make Auburn D players miss them...
